Do we Really Need All Those Stickies?
The tv forum is filled with stickies and they dont need to be all sticked so that we could have more room for our other threads in it

I stickied the threads for ongoing shows so people wouldn't have to search for them. If you guys don't want this, I can unsticky them.

Considering that the TV section isn't that big yet, it doesn't really matter if we have them stickied or not. Personally, I think it's better to have those stickied if there is actual discussion.

Libs knows TV well and the discussions that people would like to partake in ... (did i use partake correctly??). I think its a good idea to have the recent shows stickied... kinda like the weekend openers in the "your Take" section ..

Odd to see the complaint about stickies in the TV section because it's the only section where I think the stickies are just fine. But 6 stickies in Movies section seemed a bit much. Not a major deal but a little eyebrow raising.

Don;t worry archie ... a couple of those stickies will be down soon ..
mainly cause its a new forum, different things keep coming up which require stickying (like the one eagle put up specifically for movie discussion stuff .. It'll be taken down soon : )

Here's a blast from the past, but since it's on the same topic -
All the stickies in Cinemania forum are getting on my nerves - having to scroll down to see even the top 1 or 2 new posts may seem minor, but it's a pain in the ass to me.
For example: Do we really need "Best Movies of 2005" and "Your Top 10 of 2005!" stickied for all eternity...

Maybe not the Top 10, but I wuld like to keep the Best of 2005 to be stickied for a bit more.

It was only seven threads...
But, whatever. I took down the 'Top 10 of 2005' thread and the 'Movie Poster' thread. Hopefully, it'll save you all a click of your mouse button.

And, it was ONLY one complaint. I'm not disrespecting bradley here, but he's not the voice of the forum.

The mandate of this sub-forum is suggestions, complaints, and improvements -- I hope my post here came of as more of a suggestion, though nothing makes me crankier than unnecessary scrolling.
As a long-standing member of this community, I felt comfortable at least mentioning it. However, if everyone else voted for all threads to be permanently stickied, I'd be able to live with that, too...
(BTW, I can now see the top two unstickied threads on my screen set-up - Thanx, Corporal Zinger!)

I love how it's set up now in TV forum, and wouldn't mind seeing the same in another forums.
But TV forum is quite different than Cinemania for instance, easier to make an archive when most of the threads are about one show or another. Cinemania has quite broader topics - lists, general movies discussions, particular movies discussions,...
Anyway, in a while, Horror thread, half decade thread will go down, and there'll be just Best of 2006, Best of 2005 (think that could be down soon as well, maybe until half of year? Sometime in may, june?) and thread archive. Enough I think. With enough space to add sticky, two when needed.
Box office seems fine. Everybody's A Critic as well...maybe putting down that bABA's thread. Awards thread might actually miss a sticky, thread archive would be great there, but prolly a hard and long work.
Cooler and Sports are fine, seen mods always sticky threads that are 'important' at the time.
Clooneys, homework, would prefer if those forums doesn't exist actually.
BO Games, DVD fine. Literature, not sure if Book Club threads are needed anymore.
TV forum, not needed announcements, especially that poll about stickies-archive. :-D
Music, Game center don't have any stickies, and not sure how usefull would be to make an archive, as quite many topics about 'small' things.
Site, Name changes, Ranks, and A Note to Everyone don't need to be stickied imo.
This is just how I'd like it to be set up, not a request to actually do it.
:-)

Best of 2005 will go down once we get into May, since all the 2005 DVD releases should be out by April, as well as it's start of the summer.
