Re: BKB has been banned indefinitely
Quoted for epic stupidity:
from box office theory:
"View PostSchumacher FTW, on 19 February 2012 - 11:09 AM, said: Funny that half the members of this site live overseas mate. And what about Batman Begin's DVD sales, do they not mean anything at all to how TDK performed?
BKB: No
Cause it was a boring, very boring movie that barely made 200M plus domestically and a true testament that Heath Ledger and his unfortunate demise were the selling points of TDK..Sorry I had to bring it up but it's true.. BATMAN BEGINS was coming off the Schumacher BATMAN shitfest he made and moviegoers were simply apprehensive to even give this franchise another chance.. Hell, THOR and CA were better than BATMAN BEGINS.. "
And there's probably the most moronic thing to ever come from this idiot's keyboard. If ANYTHING proves that this idiot officially has his head up his ass when it comes to common sense, this statement is it! Even for a troll comment, this is ludicrous.
Batman Begins is regarded by the vast majority of filmgoers as a thrilling, psychological masterpiece of cinema, easily one of the top 5 comic book films of all time, and one of the top 5 most influential films of the 21st century. Only one franchise from Marvel studios has topped it's box office gross, and even that one couldn't match it on the home video market. In fact, Batman Begins' home video sales are only eclipsed by the first two Spiderman films, Batman 89, and its own sequel. Add to the fact that numerous franchises have named this film as a blueprint/inspiration for films in and out of the comic industry (Iron Man, Hulk, Bond, Trek, Apes, Holmes, X Men and the upcoming SpiderMan film), and I'd say this is a pretty beloved film.
To say that this film's performance and influence had zero impact on TDK's numbers is beyond ridiculous. Dead Man's Chest wouldn't have come close to its record numbers without COTBP. Austin Powers 2 sure as hell wouldn't have reached 200M+ without IMOM, and TDK would have lost at least 400M without BB to lead the way.

The most interesting thing that happens on this forum is Groucho posting political comics. You must be very proud, Dr. Lecter.

I enjoy the political comics.
I also enjoy myself.
So take it for what it is.

Quality is subjective by people, but many agree that BB is a high quality film. I also fail to see how it is not one of the top 5 most influential films of this century, given how many directors and actors mentioned it in later films as an inspiration/blueprint, including the upcoming Spiderman film.

Re: BKB has been banned indefinitely
To be honest, I'm shocked he was banned. He's been saying the same garbage for years. I figured most people on here just put him on their ignore list. But there are some good points on here about his posts intimidating potential new members from joining. The idea of deleting his offensive posts sounds good until you realize 95% of his posts contain an insult of some sort. I'd feel sorry for the mod/admin who gets stuck trying to clean up BKB's mess.

Don't bring him back, please. It's been much more pleasant without his antics.
