Re: Box Office Derby Update / Thanks / Awesome Content
A great question!
I recently started a new series
Query Details which I plan to continue at irregular intervals in 2012. You'll notice it's somewhat similar to the "Fun things people searched for to find us" section of my analytic articles. The idea is to move that section to it's own column.
As far as the analytics articles, I found they were too frequent and too repetitive. The problem was a lack of prior data to compare to. We can't compare to prior months because the industry has such peaks in summer and winter that prior months are often poor indicators of performance. Luckily, we now are approaching a time where we DO have prior year data, and I plan to restart the series accordingly. I'll remove the query section, as well as re-think the way I do the top content section. My tentative list of analytics articles is:
Release date - TopicJanuary - 2011 in Review
April - Q1 Review
July - Q2 Review
October - Q3 Review
They should be much more fun now that I can trend vs. prior years. I should really be able to take a look at how things are going, providing a stronger comparison and deeper insight.
