 Could WB buyout Rowling
With the Rowling controversy, it got me thinking, could she pull a George Lucas? And sell Potter completely to WB? I am sure WB would do it, although if that is a good thing is debatable, as we have seen with Disney and Star Wars. Although Rowling and Lucas seem to have much in common in terms that creatively they both have nothing left, and both dogged with some controversy. Of course Rowling might be too stubborn right now to do it.

 Re: Could WB buyout Rowling
I don't think a reboot of Harry Potter will be in cards anytime soon. Buying Rowling at this point will be of no use.

 Re: Could WB buyout Rowling
Unless I’m mistaken I don’t think Rowling’s ownership of Harry Potter is close to that of Lucas and Star Wars. WB already owns the movies, the rides are Universal and the book publishers Bloomsbury and Scholastic would likely own the books in large part (she probably got 15% royalties or something). Maybe the book publisher will try to buy her out. No idea whether Rowling has the power to block a follow up movie trilogy with Radcliffe, Watson an Grint that she has nothing to do with if the movie studio and book publisher is on board. But it would be highly disrespectful and thirsty to try it.

The question is, how long until they reboot Potter. if it's soon I'd say yeah.
