 BATTLE of the SIMILAR FILMS 2 - Alien Invasion 1996 Battle 2 - Independence Day Vs. Mars Attacks! - both alien invasion pics were released in 1996.  ID4 was perhaps one of the most anticipated event films of the 90's while Mars Attacks! barely made a ripple despite the star cast and director. Tonally very different - which do you prefer?
