Most Anticipated Of October
Looks like another good month.
Halloween was my #3 of the year(behind Avengers and Black Panther) and the trailers have done nothing but increase my excitement. DGG is gonna kill it.
First Man would be my other choice as I assume Chazelle will continue his streak.
The Venom trailers haven't been very good but I've always liked the character and its freakin Tom Hardy.
Suspiria looks awesome but I probably won't see it till November.
Bad Times also looks great. A Star Is Born is a maybe. As is Serenity. And as always I'm sure there will be movies that have not entered my radar yet. October is always good for at least one of those.

Halloween and Suspiria.
First Man doesn't look great, but it's Gosling and Chazelle so I'm obviously interested.
Venom, A Star is Born, and The Hate U Give can go fuck themselves.

A bit off topic, but having just seen like a constant stream of trailers for the Game, feels like there are a lot of interesting movies out soon.
Or maybe I just haven't seen many so anything is interesting.

Re: Most Anticipated Of October
Venom Looks UTTER shit. Hardy is a joke. Hope it bombs. A Star Is Born Not very interesting, but I'm hoping it beats Venom for the lulz. Bad Times At The El Royale I voted for this in the poll. First Man The now yearly October blockbuster drama. I like this trend the most. Goosebumps 2 Looks ok for its target audience and not stupid. Beautiful Boy dunno what this is Halloween Looks like the Scream remake. Interesting but all these movies are utter shit anyway. The Hate U Give Topical, probably will tank, but I'd see it. Serenity Could be interesting, but history says it'll be artsy wankfest that disappoints. Can You Ever Forgive Me? dunno Mid90s dunno Hunter Killer terrible Johnny English Dumb, but expected, looks harmless Suspiria Looks like a snob's orgasm.

Ha ha. These are junk food movies. They are usually fine when I don't expect too much other than indulgent entertainment.

The two most exciting movies of the month open opposite each other on the first weekend of the month, Venom and a Star is Born. Looks like a strong month though, with First Man and Halloween also looking to be big hits.

Bad Times, Serenity, and The Hate U Give top my list for the month. Also interested in Halloween and Suspiria (Dakota Johnson!), and Can You Ever Forgive Me? Melissa McCarthy is amazing
Can You Ever Forgive Give Me has some of my interest too. But The Hate U Give looks just too hard trying to make a real relevant societal film, that they forego quality, but who knows.

I thought The Hate U Give looked like crap too but reviews are terrific. So I'll give it a shot.

I first thought 22 July was a cipher for First Man. Now I know it's actually a real movie title.

Re: Most Anticipated Of October
Such an unusually strong month. Damn. Cannot wait for Halloween, Suspiria, and A Star Is Born. Also very interested in Can You Ever Forgive Me? and to a lesser extent Beautiful Boy, El Royale, The Oath, Goosebumps 2, The Happy Prince, Serenity, Mid90's, Venom, First Man (I mean, I've loved Chazelle's movies and I love Gosling but this looks kind of boring to me. Still I'll see it.).

Re: Most Anticipated Of October
First Man's campaign has been utterly boring. Every poster is the same and the trailer does nothing really to excite. I really think there is a possibility that it underperforms. I mean, I know it has the whole American patriotism thing going for it, and obviously Gosling and Chazelle are a headline-worthy duo, but it looks so drab. It doesn't look like it will be water cooler worthy, more like that boring expected Best Picture winner that people feel compelled to see and compelled to worship but nobody watches after March.

A late entry that flew under my radar since Netflix has more content than they can promote: The Night Comes For Us from the director of Headshot. Looks freakin awesome.

Re: Most Anticipated Of October
Yeah, that does look great. It's not the first in the genre of realistic/brutal fight movies, so forgive me if I'm not jumping out of my seat in excitement, but it does look cool and I will try to see it.
