Post Jim Carrey and Ron Howard's Grinch: yay or nay?

Ron Howard's live-action adaptation of How the Grinch Stole Christmas: a tremendously lucrative film (its domestic total adjusts to around 415 million) which seems to have found a certain footing among the aired-on-television-every-year holiday canon, but which also seriously gets under certain people's skin with its stranger elements (Baby Grinch, the Whos' pinched faces). In general, for you: yay or nay?

I've always thought The Grinch was ugly, soulless, and unfunny.

Stupid needless padding of an already perfect story. Wicked this is not.
