Daniel Craig or a new Bond?
Based on Spectre and any criteria you choose to consider it (its artistic quality, the arc of its story, its financial performance), would you prefer to see Craig as 007 in at least one more film or do you believe it is time for a new actor and approach?

Re: Daniel Craig or a new Bond?
I love Craig as Bond. But I'd be up for Elba. He'd probably be the hottest Bond so far. Though Craig's age comes up a lot as a "problem" for him to stay Bond. Elba is only 4 years younger.
Fassbender I never really liked. He's a good actor (and hot), but for some really I've never really grown to like him.

I think 4 films is good for Craig's Bond story arc. I think Elba would be a great Bond.
I actually think Luke Evans has a certain Bond quality to him, too.

Luke Evans does have a Bond quality, but I fear he is associated with too many B genre movies and big franchises. The producers may be wary of him.

Re: Daniel Craig or a new Bond?
Even though I consider Spectre a very flawed film, I also believe it functions nicely as a conclusion to the Craig era. He becomes very Bond, trying his hand at one-liners and sexual innuendo more than ever before. He fights and defeats [redacted] (however goofy the papa-loved-James-more! bullshit is). Even though it once again trots out a plot where Bond has to go rogue and deal with a highly personal crisis, its feel leans toward a Bond-on-a-mission romp. He restores the agency's reputation and drives away with the girl in the end, etc., etc.

Re: Daniel Craig or a new Bond?
I could go either way. I've loved Daniel Craig's interpretation of the character, but Spectre takes his version of the character to what would be a reasonably satisfying end, and Craig himself is clearly ready to move on to different projects.

Without any realistic choices for a new Bond, I'll stick with Craig.

Re: Daniel Craig or a new Bond?
I think if they hype the next as the end of his tenure, it'll see a decent increase over Spectre. Plus, they've been awesome every other film so far. The others are solid if unspectacular.

Re: Daniel Craig or a new Bond?
Also, I think he'd want to end it on a high note. He's only 47. Even Brosnan was at least capable at 51 in DAD, but while that film was the biggest of his series, it was definitely a low point for him (Not that his entire series wasn't only slightly better than the atrocious Roger Moore era, and I attribute that mostly to him.) And Craig obviously will still be in great shape for a while, the way actors do it nowadays.
Though I'm definitely not comparing Spectre with the trashy Madonna/CGI Parasailing fiasco that was DAD.

Re: Daniel Craig or a new Bond?
DAD is Brosnan's worst bond, but still better than QoS. Craig's been a great Bond in every film anyway, and he's up to another one he'll simply be the best choice. What I also hate about getting a new Bond is the longer break in between.

Re: Daniel Craig or a new Bond?
Based on SPECTRE's ending, it'd make no sense for Craig's arc to end here. IF his character wasn't James Bond his arc could end here, but I don't think they'll end the series. IF Madeline didn't say "I love you", sure, you could write her off as the first of "just another Bond girl" that Bond rides off with and then drops, but I don't think they can do that. She needs to die on screen. Bond doesn't get to just retire. Not unless you believe that bullshit "code name" nonsense and Bond can't go down that road. They'll either pull another DAF and pretty much forget the previous film (which would be a mistake) or Craig will be back.
It also doesn't make any sense for Craig to leave now that he's a producer. Think he's turning down that payday?

Re: Daniel Craig or a new Bond?
It wasn't Craig's fault. The story sucked and they ruined this build up to this arch villain. Didn't work.
