 Do you know her?
Trying to figure out to what level she is, or once was, famous.

 Re: Do you know her?
I'd have to look her up. The name rang a bell, but only as a name - I could not put a face or a career to her.

 Re: Do you know her?
Oh, come on. She's hardly Meg Ryan or Tom Cruise level of 80s pop culture. She was a flash-in-the-pan name and it all stemmed from The Breakfast Club, which I have never watched and never been interested in. I know Emilio Estevez, though.

 Re: Do you know her?
With 9 out of 10 yes', it's fair to say, she at least was, very famous at one point.
Thanks for everyone who voted already!

 Re: Do you know her?
Asking a movie forum filled with Americans is hardly proof that she was "very famous".

 Re: Do you know her?
I believe she was never world famous indeed. But I expected every film fan, no matter where from, to know about her, and I think that's still pretty much the case, an exception excluded.

 Re: Do you know her?
Nah. You asked a movie forum on the Internet. A movie forum that is rather cocky, too, and would never in a million years admit to not knowing something. Google is their friend, and this thread is meaningless.

I think 9/10 of my family members know who she is. Because they're not idiots.

 Re: Do you know her?
I've known and watched her films since i was a child in the 80s. Every decade has their famous young movie stars and she was one of the most famous of the 80s. But i can understand someone who didn't grow up in that era not knowing who she is, she has not done anything memorable since The Stand in 1994.

 Re: Do you know her?
I know who she is. I'm not sure age has much to do with it.
I know lots of actors from the 70s and 60s and 50s and 40s and 30s too.
You would think that people on a film buff website would though (or at least one would hope).

 Re: Do you know her?
She was in one classic film and that's the only thing people know her for.

 Re: Do you know her?
Our family cat was named after her. Our cat had rings around her tail, so we named her Molly (*Ring*wald... get it?).
