 Most Annoying Movie Patrons?
After seeing American Hustle and 12YAS and having the same issue with both audiences, I wanted to see if everyone else felt the same way I do.
I find an older audience, let's say 50+, to be far worse in a theater than any other. They talk more, are irritated easily and are more prone to arguments with other patrons.
Sure, I hate when a baby is in the theater, and teenagers on their phone can suck a dick, but old people are awful.

 Re: Most Annoying Movie Patrons?
Teenagers. Constant giggling, cellphone flashes, talk (mostly because of really dumb comments)... For those reasons I sometimes regret there aren't any movie ratings here. Old people are quiet here.
Oh, the second worse people? Regular people aged 25-40. There are some real imbeciles in that category.

 Re: Most Annoying Movie Patrons?
Teenagers are the most consistently awful and have the most disruptive tactics in their annoyance arsenal, particularly in a teenager loaded showing of a horror film. They text. They scream inane or raunchy crap for the amusement of their pals. They switch seats constantly. They run up and down the aisles and the stairs.
Old people definitely do have a tendency to chat loudly during films, though.

I didn't include "black people" as a choice. Because. Get the fuck over it.

Teens.
They do all of the annoying noisy crap, but they are rude when you confront them too, and this makes them the worst. They see it as fun to piss people off.
But in China, it's adults in general. They're all unbearable.

Teens. The switch to matinees was honestly the best decision I ever made.

Parents who bring their extremely young children to hard-R horror films. Happaned with Final Destination 5 and You're Next. Absolutely baffling.

 Re: Most Annoying Movie Patrons?
I only encounter two issues, but they're rare since I usually see the earliest showings available. The first, and most annoying, are people who are constantly checking their phones. It's usually the teenager crowd, but more recently younger kids (under 10) are doing it more often. And the second are the crying babies, but I can typically ignore this and I do see many family films, so it's kinda expected.
Old people is an odd inclusion. I don't believe I've ever had or seen anyone have a problem with them; they're far more quiet than anyone else. This might be because I only go to the movies Saturday mornings, and we always sit in the back row, so they're usually far out of ear range anyway.

 Re: Most Annoying Movie Patrons?
Old people. I've never had a worse movie experience than the one I had in 12 Years a Slave next to the loudest most obnoxious couple in the world. What makes them the worst is that there is little to no chance that they will change.

In China, it's hard to go see a film without some kind of disturbance happening around you at least once.

In most movies, young men. A lot of them act drunk and shout stuff out, especially during previews.

 Re: Most Annoying Movie Patrons?
Teenagers don't go to movies anymore, so Old People win this one easily. They know better than to talk through the entire movie, but some of them just don't care.

I would add couples in love seats. They think it's OK to practically have sex in those.

 Re: Most Annoying Movie Patrons?
Hehe...yeah.
In Hong Kong on the other hand, it's both ICY cold and DEAD silent. I'd really wish they didn't turn the AC so low, but the audiences there really respect the medium.
I voted young children in the poll, they simply can't sit still or stay shut for even the shortest film.
Teenagers in China are remarkably more well behaved, generally, but there isn't loads of them, most people only start going to the cinema here once they're in college. And I'd say they're probably the largest crowd, most people attending are in the 20-35 group I think. I never really see elderly people or babies.
