On a base level, which of these DC Comics properties has more financial potential? I know, there are TONS of variables, such as casting and the director, release date, etc., but... as I said, just consider both as properties on a base level, how the public perceives them, the ease in which they can be adapted into a 'serious' motion picture, and so on and so forth.

Lantern may be more kickass but i hand it tot he Flash. Hes a far more relatable, recognizable and a character you can make interesting from the very start .. whether you use Barry Allen or Wally West. One of the few characters that has fun with his powers.

A Green Lantern flick will be much cooler and visually amazing but Flash has better chances at boxoffice because he is an earthling and is grounded so it will connect with general audience better than Green Lantern.

Wasn't a green lantern picture rumored to be in the works with Seth Rogan playing the title character? Or was that another superhero..

GL has more potential since there are so many of them and they deal with a whole universe. The Flash though would work better and be cheaper to make though.

Kind of a simple question, hands down Flash, he is more recgonizable and fits much better in the taste of the public (that more down-to-earth superhero like Tony Stark) is they use Wally West.

It depends entirely on how well made the film is, doesn't it?

I mean, it's not like "Iron Man" is up there with Superman and Batman as a character everyone knows, but the film was so well made that it's beat both Batman and Superman in the box office. (Well, OK, not adjusted for inflation, but still...)

The Flash because Green Lantern has the most recent disaster of the two.

Honestly, I think Flash is the "bigger" of the two... but because of his power/abilities, unless they NAIL how it's done, I think GL has the higher ceiling (obviously if done right).

I'm really curious what they're going to do with Flash on the TV show. Are they going to show him actually using his speed? Or will it be offscreen? Will it be those stupid "light trails" behind him and him just sped up?

Yeah, that's mostly correct.

But in terms of inherent potential, there is a difference. Like, look at the first Spider-Man film...no matter how well made an Iron Man flick would never reach this right out of the gate. It'd have to earn the audience's love first.

As for the thread's question, I think Green Lantern has more potential in the long term.
