Please don't cast Johnny Depp...

A very interesting suggestion but I'm not sure he is zany enough to pull it off. On the other hand, Johnny Depp would probably be overly zany and play it similar to the awful portrayal Jim Carey gave. There's a fine balance to strike, I'm not sure who would be best.

He said the Penguin was unlikely, has never mentioned Catwoman.

JGL is rumored almost every day for this.

Hope it happens. He fits the mood of the films.

Batman 3 in 3D should assure 200M+ OW. I think it might even come close to 250M.

You really don't need a big name actor for the Riddler. Hell Cillian Murphy wasn't one. Heath Ledger wasn't one and neither was Aaron Eckhart. JGL would be interesting but so would Depp. Who knows though we still don't know if the Riddler is apart of this movie.

I still think Casey Affleck would be a good choice for The Riddler but JGL would work too. Plus we know that Nolan often works with the same actors over-and-over.

I have my doubts about Black Mask. Not certain what kind of a threat he could be to gotham. He was nothing but a mob boss in the comics.

Bob Hoskins as penguin. That would be my dream.

Hmm, having seen Hardy in Brosnon (albeit a different character), I'd say he's definitely versatile enough to play The Riddler.

I find such discussions pointless. They link Hardy and DiCaprio to the next Batman because they played in Inception, i wouldn't give much on rumors such as this one. I'm not saying it's not a reasonable assumption to make but it could just as well be another actor who gets the part in the end.

the Riddler and Catwoman are fine for me, but the rumors about the Penguin being elected as Gotham Mayor is possible, off course Nolan's Penguin

I'm digging JGL as the Riddler. Always liked him as the actor and as some have pointed, he fits the mood of Nolan's Batman universe. And who's to say he can't be snazzy? From what I could tell, he's quite a versatile actor.

Where did you hear about this rumor concerning Penguin elected Mayor? I have no problems with multiple villains but Riddler, Catwoman, Penguin, and Scarecrow would be cramped.

I am not saying all 4 villains will appear in the movie, I mean that for me it is a good choice to put the riddler and catwoman together

Gotcha, I do imagine Scarecrow would be a cameo anyway and wouldn't probably matter to the main plot. I have no problem with Riddler and Catwoman either. My only issue is I figure this movie will be about Batman's redemption in the eyes of Gotham. So, we need a villain who would threaten Gotham. Not sure if the Riddler can do that. There are only two I could think of Talia, trying to get revenge for her father and Poison Ivy as an ecoterroist trying to destroy Gotham because it is destroying the environment.

Thalia sounds good, she can show her interest in Batman, but she can´t be the principal antagonist, I am sure Nolan will put someone stronger with a dark profile,


the villain has to be someone capable of create a darker chaos than the one created by the Jocker
