Why??? I mean whether you like the guy or not, he does turn a profit for the studio with every movie he's made... What kind of profit have you turned with the movies you've made?? Oh I forgot, you haven't made any

I'm not so sure another Elm Street's necessary. I mean, Wes Craven's New Nightmare did a good job of closing up the Elm Street franchise, and the Freddy Versus Jason movie's already taken the character outside the box...
Either way, does this mean we can look forward to a PG-13 Freddy!

Well that statement will certainly ring true this weekend when the RING II opens up lower than what everyone has predicted because the movie will suck, but obviously be #1 for the weekend..

That's a good question because when "The Man" made AVP, he took the source material right out of the Dark Horse Comics which was PG-13 Material with more Extraterrestrial violence than Extraterrestrial on human violence therefore, it qualified for that rating, but I'd like to think with another Elm Street movie, "The Man" will stick to the R-Rated Formula like the others.. Then again, Elm Street was so long ago that since then, it seems more studios are looking for the PG-13 Rating than R-Rating today for more $$$.. R-Rated horror is few and far between now it seems..

With the amount of grotesque, grusome and gore-filled violence in any of the "A Nightmare on Elm Street" films, I highly doubt that the film could be even edited down to a "PG-13" rating.
And don't forget that Paul W.S. Anderson also directed the "R" rated Resident Evil, so he has and will likely continue to make "R" rated films.

You know...
...I actually think this is a good match up for Paul W.S "The Man (of my dreams) with a plan" Anderson.
I do however think that if its not hardcore violent and gruesome that it will destroy the series.
And if one of the female leads falls in love with Freddy... it's all over.

I don't actually trust this rumor yet, after all it was only days ago that it was supposedly "announced" that Tarentino would be directing Friday the 13th XI.
Hopefully if it is made though it will be a remake and not another mindless sequel.

Makes it easy to see who the favourite film franchise in New Line's camp is though, doesn't it? They woo Tarantino for Friday the 13th and Paul W.S. Anderson for Elm Street. That's like giving one of your kids an Xbox for Christmas and the other an Atari Jaguar.

I think it's admirable that BKB goes into every movie with a completely open mind. You just never know if he's going to love a movie or hate a movie before he sees it. He just keeps us hanging!
But, I'll go out on a limb and say he'll love the Ring 2 and hate Nightmare on Elm Street Part 12 (or whatever they're up to).

Woohoo, let's hear it for another hack ruining the integrity of a fantastic movie by remaking it into a shlocky piece of crap that teenagers will eat up by the pound!

Does anyone even bother to check his links anymore?
A "little blurb in the Dallas Morning news?"

Yeah, I can't say these links are too inspiring. Remember how quickly that Dakota Fanning/Exorcist thing got rebunked? Right.

Well if he does make the film it will be R because he still makes R-rated films (Resident Evil, Resident Evil 2). This is a slasher flicks and no slasher flicks in recent memory (House of Wax, Texas Chainsaw Massacre) have been rated PG-13.

Good one, Snrub.
It's kinda suprising, though. Elm Street has always been the better received series but it's also been much more risky. Friday the 13th movies will do okay regardless of who's directing. Elm Street, though, is susceptible...

I used to like Paul Anderson before AvP. Honestly, Event Horizon was one of my favorite movies and i quite enjoyed resident evil and the first mortal kombat.
