I'd rather gain carnal knowledge of a porcupine then see The Ugly Truth.
So go with The Proposal.

The Ugly Truth is cute but pretty forgettable, and not nearly as funny/entertaining as the former choice.

Re: Which Should I See: The Ugly Truth or The Proposal? The ugly truth is a predictable and mildly offensive battle of the sexes with little charm relying on the spicy words to keep things ticking along, Suffice to say i did not love it at all.
The Proposal, however, is a charming 90s throwback style romantic comedy with a host of lovable supporting characters, great premise and fantastic performances from it's leads who have a much deeper chemistry than Butler/Heigl. In addition, there are genuinely sweet moments throughout and the film as a body comes out very funny and makes you feel great.

(It's just plain lucky that it turns out to be well-written arch, contrived crap!) ((Plus even luckier that it features some great performances 1!)) ((( 1 I can't say great acting, since the cast of old pros is never allowed to show it - - it's all quick-cut, low-rent, comedic editing. ))) (((( But I can't say I didn't laugh.))))
