Well, he's definitely alot looking thinner these days, Oh wait, he's dead.. How the hell is Bryan Singer gonna bring this guy back to play Jor-El in SUPERMAN RETURNS??
Hell for that matter, why doesn't he just resurrect Christopher Reeve while he's at it to play Clark Kent/SUPERMAN???
I don't know folks, this just sounds morbid that he would even consider this instead of going with a different actor to play Jor-El
Very easily.
Richard Donner directed 75% of
Superman II (At the same time as Superman), but was fired because he didn't get along with the producers, and they let him go after the first was a success. Richard Lester came in, to reshoot a chunk of Donner's stuff and add some of his own things as well.
Anyways, Marlon Brando and Gene Hackman were both supposed to be in the sequel. All of Hackman you see in the sequel was shot by Donner. Once Lester came in, Hackman left. The same thing happened with Brando.......kind of. Brando shot some scenes with Christopher Reeve (Under the direction of Donner). Once Donner left though, the studio didn't want to pay Brando, and all of his scenes were left on the cutting room floor.
(I should've clicked/read the article first, seeing as what I wrote up above is mentioned in the article.)
So, if Singer somehow found this footage and has permission to use it, there will be technically new footage of Brando as Jor-El. Plus if the movie has flashbacks, they can use footage from the first Superman movie.
