i LOVED charlottes web
And Jennifer Garner is the new Julia Roberts...so LISTENING to them together will be cool
Jennifer is supposed to only have a v. small role though - shes working on Catch and Release come summer.

many rising stars and some great older ones. I am a very big fan of Fanning, I think if she chooses good roles, she could become one of the best actress.

Great cast and hopefully the movie will be really good with Charlotte's Web being a classic and all. I have a problem with Oprah since she sure has ate alot of Charlottes kind. Can they at least cast some vegetarians for the voices?

Isn't Charlotte a spider who befriends a pig? I doubt Oprah is playing the spider.
I know I know, that was horribly mean, but hey she's got half the money in the US, she can take it.

Yes, Charlotte is a spider while I believe Wilbur is the pig.

Yeah I know, it was one of the first real books I ever read as a little kid. I was just making a smartass comment about Oprah.

So basically this is Racing Stripes with a better cast and source material?
Worked for Babe, it got a BP nomination. And Babe II was considered to be even better.

Pretty much seems that way.
I never saw Babe II, but the original was one of my favorite movies as a child. I almost feel like watching it again now that you mention it.

Babe 2 in short kicked ass so much it hurt.
Babe is also a childhood classic of mine - one of those movies that everyones at least watched on TV once.
Its on nearly every christmas here - damn right too.
My whole class was in tears at the end of Charlottes Web in primary school [i think] when i was just 7 years old. [All aww now]
Im going to read it again - just because i loved it. Magical book that will bring home alot of memories of my old headteacher who sadly died a few months ago. I dont think ill be able to make it through
But i will definately see this one in theaters - for the cast alone never mind the amazing source material. Jennifer Garner in Julia Roberts in a movie together is scary. What if they get them mixed up?

I heard that this movie is made for TV. Unless I heard wrong, it won't be in theaters, which is odd for such a big cast.

It's going to be amazing, if it is done right. I really loved the classic. I hope this doesn't make the classic look like a complete joke.

If anything this would be like a passing of the torch from Julia to Dakota  *hopes for flame war*
But seriously. Is this Oprah's first big screen movie? We all know she does those made for tv crapfests.

Jennifer Garner is not even in the same league as Julia Roberts, because to compare the two, they must both be females, and Garner clearly has something dangling between her legs.

I agree in sorts, Garner is no Julia.
I think Dakota Fanning can be expected to have a career very similar to Kirstin Dunst's career.

I don't think Garner is the new Julia either.
She's only had one movie where they used her name to draw in the crowd. and still, it was a dissapointment to some, box office wise.
Julia Roberts was able to pull in audiences to have alot of $100M+ grossing movies.
So jennifer garners drawing power still has to be proven (after Elektra). However, Julia is the most popular/famous actress in Hollywood.
Jennifer has got her work cut out for her, before she can even think about being compared to julia.
I think these wild comparisons started when people thought "13" was going to be massive, and that Elektra would be a hit.
