Re: EMPIRE'S TOP 50 MOVIE SEQUELS
Halloween III might scrape into the top 30 horror films of all time? Really? And I like Halloween III.

Re: EMPIRE'S TOP 50 MOVIE SEQUELS
The list is now forgiven for including Wes Craven's New Nightmare at #17. But how is Return of the Jedi on there at #21 but (apparently) no Revenge of the Sith? Especially when friggin' Shrek 2 made it.

Re: EMPIRE'S TOP 50 MOVIE SEQUELS
Solid list. Besides the obvious amazing sequels (Aliens, The Dark Knight, Terminator 2), I like the inclusion of New Nightmare, Mission: Impossible III, Scream 2, the Bournes, etc.

Re: EMPIRE'S TOP 50 MOVIE SEQUELS
I agree with:
28 Weeks Later Nightmare on Elm Street 3 Gremlins 2 Scream 2 Addams Family Values New Nightmare Batman Returns X2 Toy Story 2 Terminator Judgement Day Aliens
But... Halloween 3 are you kidding me? The Lost World?!? Seriously?
Scream 2 and Batman Returns are my favourite sequels of all time.
Fuck the theory that sequels can never be better than the originals....actually as discussed in Scream 2.

Re: EMPIRE'S TOP 50 MOVIE SEQUELS
Halloween III is overcompensation. Because there's a large group of people who despise it for not having Michael Myers, a small minority has sprung up proclaiming it to be a truly classic horror film.

Re: EMPIRE'S TOP 50 MOVIE SEQUELS
50 is apparently just way too high a number. They had to fill in the slots with movies they don't even pretend to like.

Re: EMPIRE'S TOP 50 MOVIE SEQUELS
They said they didnt include LOTR because they think of it as 1 piece since it was filmed together. Anyway, where the hell is Mad max 2 and the good, the bad and the ugly?

Re: EMPIRE'S TOP 50 MOVIE SEQUELS
http://worldofkj.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=45239Im still quite happy with my list, and think they may have checked mine out. TDK would be high on my runner-up spot now, and kudos for Bill and Ted 2, I forgot about that one (But I really love the first too) I've always liked New Nightmare and Nightmare 3, but I think there's been a lot of better sequels out there.

Please say Mad Max 2 is there. I checked the top 20 and no show.

Empire should have been in the top 5. I would put Godfather 2 first over Aliens.

Jedi Master Carr wrote: Empire should have been in the top 5. I would put Godfather 2 first over Aliens. Sequel wise, I would put Aliens over, I think it surpasses the original in most aspects, certainly by being more than just a defining genre movie. Godfather 2 while an awesome sequel is not necessarily a better film than the original, so on Sequel status Aliens has done more.

A lucky strike for John Savage.
