BKB Takes Aim At USA TODAY Critic For Denial Of SW3
http://www.usatoday.com/life/movies/new ... vies_x.htm
This weekends USA TODAY has the 5 Top Most Anticpiated Movies of the Summer listed on it's Life Section Front Page Cover and the 5 Movies this Critic, Susan Wloszczyna have listed are:
1. CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY
2. BATMAN BEGINS
3. WAR OF THE WORLDS
4. THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE LION, WITCH AND THE WARDROBE
5. KING KONG
What MAJORLY Pisses me off is her Quote listed at the bottom of the Cover page about what she says about Star Wars EPISODE III Revenge of the Sith saying and Quote: "Intentionally omitted from this list is the Most Anticipated film event of the summer, the opening May 20th of Star Wars, EPISODE III Revenge of the Sith, in which George Lucas finally brings his Multigenerational space opera to a close.. The only suspense is whether this prequel goes out with a BANG or a BUST"...
Now Look folks.. First of all, I don't know what this bitch's problem is and she seems awfully fucking overly biased toward Peter Jackson and his films being listed, but heaven forbid if she should actually list the most anticipated movie of the summer with SW3 whether she likes the Prequels or not.. This sort of pisses me off cause she makes it look like the films going to be a bust right off the bat and that couldn't be further from the truth just based on everything we've seen.. How the fuck does she know that BATMAN BEGINS isn't going to be a fucking BUST or even KING KONG for that matter??? What?? Peter Jackson is above making a bad film now all of a sudden and it will never be done??? :???: Here's a thought Susan: Jack Black is in this movie which is the oddest fucking Casting I've seen for a movie like this that for all we know, he could kill this movie being labeled a comic and typecast.. I just think that despite whether a person likes or dislikes the SW Prequels, give Lucas credit where credit is due and have the common courtesy to at LEAST list his movie since afterall, how can anyone deny that it's not going to be a big time Blockbuster this summer??? Stupid bitch..

Some of these writers need to be shot. Forget Star Wars for a second. Forget even bkb's lack of faith in Batman begins.
KING KONG !!! ????? SUMMER RElEASE!?!?!? Chronicles of Narnia!?!?!? Summer release??? Are they randomly picking up any movie this year and throwing it into the summer!??

Something didn't seem right so I actually clicked the link (who'd a thunk?)
Her list isn't for summer releases.
"We've got the perfect pick-me-up for those starved for a super-size tub full of cinematic snackability. Here's a preview of five big pictures that are sure to pop your corn in 2005. And when we say big, we mean big. Big budgets, big concepts, big directors, big effects.."
That explains the winter films.
BUT NOTHING EXPLAINS KEEPING SITH OFF.
It's the #1 most anticipated film of the year. Anyone who says otherwise is completely daft.
More than a few people (including me) are willing to drop upwards to $1000 to see it a week early at a charity premiere. Not to mention the line parties, the Vanity Fair cover shoot, the countdown to the O.C. trailer, Sith is going to be a beast. Plain and simple.

hey ... I can not freaking WAIT for Chronicles ... but it simply is not even close to more anticipated than harry, to say so is just as dumb as leaving SW3 off.

Now, now Eagle, just because you're not looking forward to Charlie doesn't mean that it's not hugely anticipated by nearly every other right-thinking person in existence. Anyone not looking forward to a film that's destined to be regarded as the best film of all time, break numerous box-office records and in all likelyhood become the next President of the United States of America is a damn fool!

Well, intentionally leaving off Star Wars, yet making sure to include King Kong speaks volumes here. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at #1? Batman Begins at #2? Was she purposely trying to kill her credibility while she was purposely omitting Revenger of the Sith?

In her defense, she doesn't actually rank the films in the article. She just lists them in the order of their release (Charlie comes in third). I think BKB just made up the rankings all by himself.
However, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is at number one in the poll that accompanies the article with a whopping 29% of the total vote. =D>

Must every person consider SW: EP III the movie of the summer?
While it is a big draw, I part feel that way becuase of my love of the OT, not because of buzz for this fi;m, if anything the prequels justify its lack of a presence on the list.
So while yes, itought to be on thelist, it not being there it indicative of the fact that it doesn;t have the same hoopla raoudn that saw EP I did before its release. When EP I was comming out at this time, I could nto walk two feet with a poster or product tie in or a bad of chips with a SW character on it.
I think I reflect alot ofpeople who intend to see SW, buts its not in my top five anticipated movies of the year.
Her article suggests these are fioms she expects to like, if she didn;t like the other two SW prequels, that doesn;t boe well for liking the third, and so if its herlist she has the right to leave it off.

While what you say is right Ripper, I think shes completely off on why she thinks Star Wars doesn't belong on that list. She dismisses it with a casual "the only thing worth looking at is if it will succeed or not"

I think she is wrong to discount it from the list, but to her it sounds as iff that is all she interested in, whether or not its financially successful. She ma have zero desire whatsoever to see the movie, and given the two previous films I don't blame her.
Maybe she smarter then me, i;ve been very disappointed twice, yet I am going to be theur opening a third, hoping up on hope this is different.

True. I think what bothers me is that the way the article is written, she makes it sound like shes speaking for everyone, not just for herself. Meh.
