Re: Vanilla Sky???
It's definitely not the best that Cameron Crowe has done, but it's not as underwhelming as its reputation suggests. I enjoyed it.

Re: Vanilla Sky???
Cameron Crow has done some good work with Almost Famouse and such, but Vanilla Sky just blows all that away, it is so well done, and the story is simply pefect, and there are some just mindblowing scenes in it, its just by far the best of his work I think if you think about it
And it has one of the best soundtracks ever

The final twenty minutes or so almost make up for the lifeless, boring shit that comes before it.

Re: Vanilla Sky???
I really like it, but it just lacks something for me to truly love it. I think I'm on about the same page about it as makeshift is. The ending is just amazing. Cruise and Diaz are both great, Diaz probably at her career-best even.
Jerry Magure was a tad better, though.

Sci - Fi?! Didn't expect to hear that at all. Hopefully I'll get to see it someday, it's your favorite so the least I could do is watch it.

Re: Vanilla Sky???
I will not rate it as the best CC venture as well. I prefer JM. I think screenplay tried to play too clever for the movie's good. Acting was top notch and as everyone sayclimax was excellent.
Overall I would rate it B+.

Vanilla Sky wrote: I dont know, romantic thriller, romantic Scifi, I dunno if u can call it either a romantic thriller or scifi. It is a twisted movie IMO. Drama more than anything else. It is not that even paced to be called a thriller. Just a twisted drama. But compared to average crap dished these days I would rate VS a notch or 2 higher.

Re: Vanilla Sky???
I wished they'd done more with the concept... if Charlie Kaufman or a director more conscience of his themes and messages got a hold of the Life Extension company, this really could've been something for the ages.
