Yes.. It really wouldn't be any different than Jackson making a Cameo in one of his LOTR films.. I applaud this.. =D>

Yeah, but his part will go by so fast, like in a blink that it probably won't matter..

Lucas will never reach the greatness of PJ, no matter how hard he tries...

Yeah, because Peter Jackson revolutionized the way movies are merchandised and marketed, he pioneered FX, sound, and editing techniques, and he doesn't stand on the shoulders of others doing unoriginal work like LOTR and King Kong. He also doesn't appear on Star Wars DVDs as a slobbering fanboy who's bowing to the master along with James Cameron, Ridley Scott, and a host of others.
Yeah, that Peter Jackson is really the benchmark that Lucas and the rest are shooting for...

=D> That's right and furthermore, Lucas OWNS Jackson.. (BKB sits back and awaits for yet another Edition of A LOTR vs SW Flamewar to ensue).. \:D/

Are you saying that you were only joking, and you realize that Mr. Lucas far exceeds Jackson in terms of greatness? Surely you can get off Jackson's nipple long enough to admit it.

Nah, i meant it. I like Gorgie boy, the creation of Star Wars was a fantastical thing to happen and i'm grateful for that, love that world, his drive to improve technology is admirable, but in terms of filmmaking talent he can't hold a candle to Mr. Jackson, or Mr. Cameron for that matter, the latter two having an Oscar to prove it. \:D/
Speaking of nipples, how are Lucas' ones if i may ask, are they tasty?
LOTR vs SW, round 101!

at the moment, jackson seems to be the better director of the two. but lucas made 2 great movies in the 70s, star wars and american graffiti, and i believe that these are better movies than the lotr trilogy. lucas was great, but he lost it

You've just discredited yourself. Since you have not been in the Oscar forum to discuss the Oscars this year, you obviously don't care enough to give them the time of day or any importance. Sure, you'll try to act as if the Oscars "prove" something, but all you have proved is that they mean absolutely nothing to you, or you would surely have been talking about them. They are less than 2 weeks away, but you have been nowhere to be found. Sounds like a classic case of somebody without true convictions in their words.
When Jackson does something great and original like Cameron and Lucas have, let me know, until then, he's clearly just another in a long line of people who stand on the shoulders of those who are truely great. \:D/

LMAO - you felt the need to remind me who Pitof was by bracketing one of his films

LOL at your reasoning skills! Not having joined the Oscar discussions just means that this year there isn't a movie i'm especially rooting for. Hell, haven't even got down to watch ONE of the best pic contenders for this year. One cause being that not all of them have been released here yet, in the country i live in, the other being disinterest. Probably i would have were it not for the tight budget i'm on at the moment. Why does it matter whether i care for the Oscars or not, anyway?
When Lucas wins an Oscar, let me know.

haha...that was the best you can do? That's exactly what I just said, you don't care about the Oscars, and if you did, you would be watching and talking about them. You care about LOTR, so since you give no importance to the Oscars (not watching this year, huh?) it proves that you don't much care, unless you need some validation for your insecure opinion about Jackson.
Maybe the reason you have no interest is because you can only enjoy standard popcorn fare like LOTR. That's ok , those are my personal favorite types of movies, but I can enjoy movies that require me to think too. I don't need FX and explosions to keep my attention. And don't bother trying to deny LOTR being popcorn fare, because it is, even if you did "shed a tear as Frodo and Sam gazed into eachother's eyes".
I'm still waiting for you to tell me when Jackson did something great and original Like Lucas and Cameron. Lucas revolutionized much of the industry, Cameron has been hard at work in trying to revolutionize 3D FX, and Jackson...is doing yet another remake of King Kong. I wonder what will come first, you being able to tell me some original greatness on Jackson's part, proving that he doesn't stand on the shoulders of giants, or all of those grandstanding LOTR fans who have moral issues with anything negative said about the precious, coming into this thread to show they aren't hypocrites.
