So its leaked. Its not complete and i can tell the movie will be good. But this is the worst marketing they could have done for it. The trailer makes it look semi funny, more of a galaxy quest type movie more than anything else. Not a good approach. AICN for the trailer by the way.

Its sad. This trailer was SOOOO catered to fans. All the inside book jokes ... everyone else will get such an MIB feel out of it.

They really shouldn't have explained anything about this movie. They should have limited all its trailers to over the top quirks (should hav shown the seen with Dent and Prosser)

They showed zaphod's second head and 3rd arm. So I'm guessing the big secret for the movie will be Marvin's voice or that of the guide, 2 of its biggest selling points.

Well, I think it looks quite good. I can understand how the trailer is not going to appeal to a mainstream audience, though. It'll probably bomb, unfortunately. It looks great, though.

I think they sent off the wrong message. The best thing going for hitch hiker was that it remained pretty much unexplained. The movie at the end of the day is about nothing and then again, about something ... but now they've made it look like Earth is destroyed and Arthur is on some sort of a action oriented mission with token aliens. The trailer made the story lose its bizarreness.

The way bABA would have liked it.

Show that Arthur is forgetting something very important.
Show a girl sitting in coffeeshop having a revelation.
Show arthur interact with prosser
Show the girl running around excited. Show flying text telling how she figured out the way to make everyone happy. How she knows the meaning to everything.
Show a few more clips of her reaching the phone, Ford Prefect meeting Arthur and then have text flying saying "At that moment, a very stupid catastrphe occured"

And from there introduce the characters .. but properly. While its cool that they showed Marvin, he was never introduced. They showed the 2nd face of Zaphod but all his strangeness would be understood mainly by people who know his character. Trillian remained completely unintroduced. Everything seemed like Arthur is just on a "cheesy Disney wild journey". More emphasis on this cheesy disney ride than the extrem stupidity of the subject matter itself, which i believe would have been its biggest selling point. It created enough intrigue in people to go see it. this trailer would make a person think they know now what the movie is about and if they didn't like something like MIB, chances are, they wouldn't wanna bother.
