I agree, I was stuggling for some of the ones you mentioned that I would have listed.

Mehki Phipher - Always liked him in the movies
Steve Harvey - this guy is all over the place - tv, radio, movies - a likable actor.
Omar Epps - usually like him in the movies,
LL Cool J - like him more than Ice Cube
Mike Epps - a good character guy
Delroy Lindo - a powerful actor, very imposing
DMX - like his Siegal movie among others
Taye Diggs - has had some good roles / movies
Jamie Foxx - from Living Color to this
Morris Chestnut, Mos Def - familar names but can't place them now.
Eddie Griffin - loved his Spy spoof movie among others
Spike Lee - Spike - Some good movies, some bad ones
Bernie Mac - great on his tv show and fun in the movies
Clifton Powell, Harold Perrineau - can't place right now
Derek Luke - always liked him
Rob Brown, Sean Patrick Thomas - the new guys - Forerster / Last Dance among others
James Earl Jones - Darth plus other great roles including the theatre and he was in Conan
Ossie Davis - before my time - but he was a great

I picked Morgan Freeman.

I also like Denzel, Will Smith, Samuel L Jackson, Eddie Murphy among others.

I would rate Richard Pryor, the greatest of them all along with Morgan Freeman.

Richard Pryor, he was the man. I wish I was alittle older to have seen him in the 70's. His comedy was incredible, lots took lessons from him, until he got burned freebasing cocaine.

And 2 of his classic movies that I remember with Gene Wilder - Silver Streak and the movie where they get arrested and thrown in jail. Then Wilder becomes a rodeo star for the crooked warden.

I was young but I loved their movies,

Silver Streak
Stir Crazy
See No Evil and Hear No Evil

These three are fantastic movies and the only badly made one was in 1991 called Another You.

Some older ones just popped into my head.

- Wasn't there the famous one who danced with Shirley Temple ( though much older )and others at that time.
- Woody Stroode - famous from Spartacus and other movies
- Jim Brown, Fred Williamson - and others who were in some movies in the 60 / 70's.

And OJ Simpson - Towering Inferno and Naked Gun Movies - He had such a great life before the killings. A super star football Hall of Famer, a well-respected sports star, generally well-liked and had an small acting career, character acting, if he wanted to.

Now he is so outside of all circles.

Yeh, Jada Pinkett Smith is annoying. She cant act, and thinks she is tough. I dont like her. Apart from in Collateral, then again its such a solid film, some puney bitch like her could never harm it.

Yeh, Danny Glover is very good, but he's only good in lethal Weapon movies. :)

Also, Jamie Foxx is a rising star, very good performance in Ray, could spur onto better things.

Wesley Snipes isnt too good, but he is another open for consideration, he is brilliant in Demolition Man.

Cuba Gooding jr is superb in Jerry Maguire and Pearl Harbor and Men of Honor, dont forget him....

Yes he is a good one - in some of my favorite movies like Lethal Weapn 1 & 2 and Witness with Harrison Ford - played the bad guy.

well i just learned now that Ossie davis died two days ago. In a hotel room while filming, which i think is the way an actor would pretty much want to go. It proves that it wasn't dragged out if he was signed onto movies. i still really want to see Bubba Ho-tep and somehow haven't yet. That's sad o hear though, since He was pretty grande of an all-around person, both in movies and in cultural and social investments.
