Eeeek Thats not the reasoning behind everything in Hollywood you know.
The REAL reason for this un-necessary sequel is that Hollywood is stumped for ideas. Again.

Of that $37 they would have banked around $18m
Of rentals revenue they would have banked around $22m
thats around $40m in bank + $10m or so in purchases, HOWEVER, they haven't accounted for foriegn distribution and ads, which would be around $15m .
Overall, if The Prince and Me DID profit...it only scraped by. Which is why a sequel is so totally pointless.
