Aging Actors or Rather Dye Jobs?
Thought like who do you think looks the most ridiculous considering their age, or looks the best.
Worst- Al Pacino, Burt Reynolds (At least sometimes he does it grey) Pacino really needs to let his hair finally grey in films, he's 68 years old, the black and his always crazy spray tan is so distracting now. Another one has to go to Sylvester Stallone, you may have the body of the god, but the black hair is starting to look quite unnatural, not so much in the films, but off screen its lookin ridiculous.
Those that still pull it off- Travolta (though who knows how much longer) Kurt Russell (At least at 58 he gives his hair a silver streak now) and Dennis Quaid. Tom Cruise (Still has the same look, even if he is nuts) Denzel Washington (Same as Cruise, only not nuts.
The best George Clooney (Still in his 40s, you have to hand it to him to not really caring) Bruce Willis (Bald perhaps is the best way to stay young, as Willis many times will look like he always has, without hair anyway. Harrison Ford (Since Air Force One, I dont think he's had a non grey or white movie) Samuel L. Jackson (The man is 60 and still looks like Shaft)
Why do you think the age of the older stars not caring like Eastwood or Cary Grant are gone. Also what dye job really gets on your nerves/

sorry but Cary grant died i think 22 years ago!! Al PAcino looks so radically different then from the Godfather... Like Eastwood looks something like the blond hair man in the Good the Bad and the ugly and that was 40 years ago!! De Niro looks dangerous however his of late comedy movies has soften his image. I do like how he acts like Marlon Brando, method acting... Eastwood about 5 years looked like he could kick your ass, but now he is looking really really old.

Re: Aging Actors or Rather Dye Jobs?
I'm sure he knows Grant is dead, his post didn't imply he was still alive. He was just using him as an example of someone who aged more gracefully.
The problem is that over time movies have gone from being a common entertainment for people of all ages to being primarily for younger people, so the stars have to worry more about not alienating the type of college and teen kids who see someone middle aged and go "ur old!!"
Yes Clooney is showing his gray hairs but I'm not sure box officewise that is smart. Around the time Gere started showing his gray, he stopped becoming a big star. So yes it's cheesy that they put on the illusion of youth but I understand why they do it.
What I don't understand about people like Stallone or Pacino and many others, is not the hair issue, but why won't they evolve into becoming a standout supporting character actor? Why would they rather be the star of a minor movie than a supporting actor in either a big hit or a critically acclaimed film which I'm sure they could regularly if they tried. Like Michael Caine has, he's handled his career well as he's gotten older, after a period in the 80s where he was not doing things smartly. Caine and Connery were my movie heroes growing up and they became good models of how to handle the later years of your career.

At least they arent balding and start shaving their heads to make themselves look cool. Im looking at Bruce Willis, Michael Chikalis and Howie Mandell's direction. Grow bald with dignity and have it grown like Bozo the clown

Grow bald with dignity and have it grown like Bozo the clown Well I dont think you can put Bruce Willis in that category, I mean the man was going bald it seemed almost all the way back to 1990, by the third he was definitely using plugs and in Pulp Fiction I think he was really loosing it by then. Bruce has balls going doing the bald thing in my opinion, sure he still wear pieces, but at least he knows the kind to wear, he's no Nic Cage And yes Cary Grant died long ago, but he was grey deep into what some say the prime of his career and popularity. Eastwood was just someone who looked like Dirty Harry throughout the 70s, and then in the 80s, poof like 1980 he was an older actor and stayed with it. Just look at Sudden Impact in 83 and then Any Which Way but Loose in 80, its almost like two different people. The thing about Pacino is that of course he looks a lot older, but now he just keeps his hair black spray tans the shit out of himself making him look very creepy.

He arguably has the most ludicrous, distracting hair pieces in every film he's in, but for some reason it rarely gets mentioned. I think it's because his hair's gotten so ridiculous, it's become like a disfigurement we feel obliged to actively ignore. Like he has some kind of huge mole on the tip of his nose that you have to avert your gaze from and not mention out of pure politeness.
