Napoleon Dynamite has invaded my high school!
It's becoming the most talked about movie ever in my school. Everyone has seen it by now, and that's all everyone talks about. Today alone, I heard "hey, did you see Napoleon Dynamite?" 14 times. That's more than average, but still. I don't know how so many people love this movie; it's so overrated. And don't even get me started on how many times I've heard "GOSH!" in the hallways and in my classes.
Napoleon Dynamite is huge.

I'm surprised people are still asking each other if they've seen it, considering it's not like it just came out.
I know what you mean, though. Even people I know talk about it occasionally.

Indeed... The movie was alright in my standards (I gave it a C+) but it's been getting annoying.

Puhhleze. That was so ten minutes ago...
Actually, the last time someone asked me if I had seen Napoleon Dynamite was 10 minutes ago...
Anyways, the Napoleon craze has settled, recently. Back in October, loads of people sported Vote for Pedro! buttons, shirts, keychains, and hats. Now, people still discuss it/quote it, but it isn't as excessive as it was.

Considering most didn't see it in theatres and it JUST came out on DVD, I'm not surprised. My school is the same. I just want to slap everyone. It is undoubtedly the most overrated film ever. Even if I see it again and like it more, it's still overrated. Just like My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

I hate it when cult films go bigger than they need to be. This is one of them. Hopefully it won't happen to Donnie Darko or Office Space.

I know what you mean. People around campus are talking about it a lot. People at work are also. I thought it was alright, but nothing that warrants this much praise.

Well.. I watched this again in my math class... Gosh! Almost everyone was laughing, even when Napoleon was just sitting there doing nothing, they just instantly laugh. I was the "loser" that didn't love it, heh. Damn I'm starting to hate this movie.

My teacher rented it for the whole class just as I suggested him to do so. Unfortunately, me and the whole class have mixed reactions to the movie. Maybe me and most of the class either didn't like it or had no attention to it since it's boring, uninteresting, and unfunny. Even I didn't care about the story. Probably there's stereotypes, esp. on Latinos (I think)
Remember: sometimes laughter is louder, and you rather expect most laughs than some.

Backtothefuture and insomniacdude nailed what I was gonna say. You know a "cult" film has become overplayed when it's being quoted and talked about on Around The Horn on ESPN. I absolutely loved this movie, but enough is enough.

The sequel (it's coming) will open to over $20 million.

There's a sequel?!
Well, if there really is one, and it is released properly, it will open to over $20 million without a doubt.

You know, it could be the next Austin Powers.

BTW, the number of reviews this thing has gotten at yahoo is insane. It has far more reviews from the DVD release then any other movie ever has. Blockbusters tend to get 200-300 a week after hitting DVD. ND has been over 800.

This film took over my school right after Christmas. All first hour, I hear the whole movie reinacted! It's not a bad movie, though, I thought it was really funny.
That sequel will be massive....

NO! I won't be able to tolerate another Napolean Dynamite. How can they make it into a sequel? The reason for a sequel is that there is more to tell to the story. They didn't tell much to begin with!
