TRL has the first 20 second look at it, and though I couldnt' see it with sound, I was actually pleasantly surprised. It hardly looked like the abomination many were fearing. I'm going to wait for a bit more to make a final say though.

I didn't care for it.. I smell a Roger Corman movie all over again and at best, it should've went straight to video..

Your eye wink at the end there saved you from being slaughtered for that remark.. In the meantime folks, feast your eyes on this ass ripping bashing this trailer is receiving from the link above at AICN which, well, doesn't bode well from where I'm sitting.. The only thing I can really think of that could've made this so much better than what this trailer alluded to was a larger budget and lose the Goddamn part in the storyline where DOOM was the 5th Astronaut on board the ship that caused the other 4 to change as well.. That's NOT the way it was in the comics and once again, why does Hollywood or these Directors feel the need to re-imagine the storyline in these comic adaptations intead of leaving them well enough alone??? That's what made SPIDERMAN the sheer success and Classic comic book franchise the BEST(And that is UNDISPUTED FOLKS)... Raimi is the only Director allowed to make these movies cause he genuinely cares and cares enough to stick to the stories right out of the comics... What's so hard about that Hollywood?? If it's not broken, don't fix it.. DOOM's Armor came from the accident in Space and is now part of his anatomy??? What the fuck is this?? :-k Since when??? I grew up on these comics and that's not the way I remember it.. :-k

Honestly, I think having Doom be on the same ship is a good way of simplifying things. Works better then "I scarred my college room mate, so he learned black magic and took over Eastern Europe" cinematically. ;)

Thanks for the link, MovieDude! It looks excellent from a production standpoint, and hopefully the story is just as good. Glad to hear the MTV crowd's reaction. I think it will be very successful.

BKB, sometimes changes are made. I'm assuming that time reasons were the reason for Doom being involved in the flight where the FF got dosed with radiation. It's not really a big deal. If they decided to do it like the 1961 comic origin, it would have been lame. They were trying to beat the Russians to space. They snuck onboard a ship that Reed had a hand in designing. Ben was a pilot. Reed didn't want Sue or Johnny involved. Sue told Reed "Where you go, I go" and Johnny told him "And I'm going with sis, so it's settled". That settled it too. That's how Sue and Johnny got on the ship. Would you really have preferred they did it like the comics? It needed some tweaking , and the Doom on the ship thing is about the equal to organic webshooters, Wolverine being 6'3" instead of 5'3", and the Hulk growing to 15 feet. It will not be anything that hinders the movie.

I'd also like to add, that when Jessica Alba is a blonde, she's the hottest freakin' blonde on the planet. :mirrorbow:

Yeah, I suppose.... I think it boils down to the fact that this trailer just didn't grab me and The Thing looks horrible.. I'll pass on this...

BKB, I would expect no less than you to continue being a troll where this movie is concerned, even though it's my 2nd most anticipated. Don't let me down.

I think it looks good. I'll definitely be seeing it that weekend, along with War of the Worlds.

I don't know. This didn't look nearly as bad as this AICN guy wrote. You can't really tell by the glimpses you get, but some of the action looks really promising...

\:D/ It's a great time to be an admitted Marvel fanboy. \:D/

This will even be available on DVD around my birthday. :Jump:

As always, the more I watch any clips related to the movie, the more I love it.

DC sucks. They can't even take advantage of the comic book craze, because they have TWO characters that are viable. They have to dig Batman up from the toilet that it was put in 8 years ago.

Elektra will be fine. I'm not expecting movie history, just Jennifer in tight clothes, with a little story and action thrown in. It's just a good time to be a comic fanboy, period. Sin City, Batman Begins, and Fantastic Four are the big guns this year.

The fx seems pretty decent, its not as bad as I thought. I still think the Thing needs alot of fine tuning, it does look too much like Hellboy

A heavy metal soundtrack to something that looks remotely like Rollerball 2?

I was looking forward to this, but this is a bit of a step backwards.

I saw the same trailer, and actually also thought it looked like it may not suck after all.

It didn't look pants wettingly awesome either, just semi-watchable at this point.

This is exactly why I always have a drink with me. You simply pretend to spill it on you when you have an "accident" and nobody is the wiser. You just never know when somebody will show you a trailer that'll make you lose control of your bladder.

Which reminds me, I remember when I first saw the Matrix Reloaded trailer and I lost control of my bowels. Man was that embarassing! Nobody bought the spilled soda routine because it didn't explain the smell. If you think of a good cover for that, please let me know. I'm very worried I may catch the Underworld 2 trailer at any time and I won't be prepared.
