Post White Noise Reviews Are Coming In = Pretty Good/Creepy
http://www.aint-it-cool-news.com/display.cgi?id=19084

Well, the new Michael Keaton movie titled "WHITE NOISE" arrives in theatres tomorrow and I'll be the 1st to say that not only do I have a complete, total fascination with the subject of EVP(Electronic Voice Phenomenon) but also Cryptid subjects like I posted in The Water Cooler Forum about Giant Snakes and other hidden stuff we don't see, but for the most part, the subject of the Afterlife, the Spiritual World has always and will always fascinate me.. I do believe that when you pass on, you do pass over into a different plane of existence and your conciousness survives while your physical body deteriorates.. In any event, here are some reviews of this film and the reviews find it creepy along the lines of "The Mothman Prophecies" involving the Unexplained, but as always, leave it to a bunch of Cynical, Jaded Skeptics AICN Posters are known for in slamming it to.. Enjoy..

Heres another movie wwhere i think critics and the average crowd will be at odds

http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/white_noise/

i have a feeling the audience will be more receptive to this one .. seems lighter than most horrors and don't know why but i have a feeling it doesn't take itself too seriously, something i think people will appreciate.

yeah i'm not too big on rottentomatoes ratings. i'm not big on critics reviews anyways. if i think a movie looks good i'll go see it no matter what critics say. i like to be my own judge on if a movie is good or not.

I'd be willing to make a wager, that no one from Rotten Tomatoes has seen the film either and the reason they've given it 27 negative reviews is because of the skeptics who don't believe in this sort of thing moreso than the actual film itself.. Count on any negative reviews being more about the inability to want to believe the subject of Death and The Afterlife more than the film alone.. RT is a sad website with a bunch of nerd film critic wannabe's that are more concerned about what's COOL and HIP with the Cast of the O.C being in it to put it over..

critics can't give reviews without watching it.

but yes, in the case of this movie, i really couldn't care what they have to say.

yeah, i'm sure a bunch of the negative reviews come from critics who don't believe in evp or the paranormal and therefore call white noise a bad movie. now i'm not endorsing it until i see it myself, but i'd bet that a bunch of the negative reviews are due to bias.

Well guys, my older brother is about the one critic I trust the most, and he did not like this at all. And as a crtic, he often tends to be a lot less pretensious then most. But according to him, it takes itself wayyy too seriously as it badly apes a Japanese horror movie with nothing happening until about 30 minutes in, and it's also extremely implausible. For instance, get this (Spoiler, not a huge one but not minor): A women jumps off a building nearly a dozen stories high, falls through a glass ceiling, then gets up and walks away.Seriously.

RT Critics can apparently since that site is more about a "Follow the Leader" type of site where 1 bashes a movie and the rest fall into place like a bunch of followers.. Ever notice that Baba since you do post there???

I'm well aware of how the forums work. Still, I do believe everyone of the actual critics DO watch the movie though i tend to agree with you that each one of them is waiting to see what another one writes. while they may all see the movie, i do believe they write their review based on what others have already said : )

It depends on what your Spirtual Belief is in the subject of the Afterlife.. I think it's a serious subject and subject that each and everyone of us 1 day are going to experience and there's nothing you, me or anyone can do about it.. Every one of us has a date with destiny and we all have a date, time and place where we will meet our demise and I think peoople trashing it and saying it's a ripoff of movies like The Ring or some other stupid Japanese Horror should be more informed on the subject before writing it off as just that: A Japanese Horror Ripoff.. Tell your brother to tune into a show that's on from 12:00AM-5:00AM, 7 Days a Week called "COAST TO COAST AM with George Nourhey or Art Bell and every so often, they'll have guests on who specialize in the study of EVP and you get to hear some of the stuff they record in places like Cemetary's or Mausoleums and I'll tell ya: It's creepy as all hell and it's difficult to really pinpoint whether it's the real thing or not, but you listen to some of these EVP's and you can't help but to think in the back of your mind that there is some truth to this, but in this Cynical world we live in, people are not very open minded and seeing is believing and 1 day, we will all believe cause will be there..

Well BKB I will be interested to see how you like it.

I saw a few reviews at RT that were saying how it was such a good premise for a movie done so horribly. I will be interested to see if you like it.

Well just based on what I've seen of this, I'm already sold on it, but it also has alot to do with the fact that I have a total fascination with things like this and it makes it easier to enjoy this than to have the ever scrutinizing, fanboy critical view of it and I would love to go on a trip with these folks who do this sort of thing for a living...

I've been waiting for this movie for quite some time. The plot is extremely interesting, and I can't wait to see it this weekend. As for critics, I couldn't give a damn what they had to say about this movie or any movie for that matter. They are not me. I can make up my own decision, thanks.

I felt nothing for this movie, because I didn't know much about it. Then I saw an interview with Michael Keaton on Canada AM. Wow, I am really pumped now. I can't wait to see this! I just hope most weren't like me, and didn't know much about it.

SEEN IT TONIGHT

CROWD REPORT

Film: WHITE NOISE
TIME: 9:45PM
AUDIENCE: SOLD OUT, 400 SEATER

TRAILERS:
HIDE AND SEEK - whispering. interest.
ELEKTRA - no reaction
ASAULT ON PRESINCT 13- no reaction

Report:
Went to see WHITE NOISE tonight. To a sold out audience here in the UK, SCOTLAND. Was very very surprised by this movie. The marketing was heavy, there was alot of it, but it didn't give too much away. Which worked in the movie's advantage. Alot of the storyline is not clear in the trailers and plot summaries. Creepy and edgy from start to finish. Ring like chills and eye watering creeps. The audience were right into it, with a couple of screams and alot of jumps. This is seriously one of the best supernatural like movies i have seen in a long while. Thouroughly enjoyable, and very spine chilling.

8/10.
