New Line Cinema has put the brakes on developing either a Freddy vs. Jason 2 or a Blade: Trinity spinoff that would feature the Nightstalkers. Creature Corner caught up with New Line Cinema's Toby Emmerich to ask about the status of both.

"There are no plans for another 'Freddy Vs. Jason' film right now," says Emmerich. The Hollywood trades in August said that director/producer Sam Raimi was in talks with New Line to bring Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash to life.
While Blade: Trinity definitely looks to be the third and final film in the "Blade" franchise, there was lots of talk about a potential Nightstalkers spinoff film which would star Ryan Reynolds and Jessica Biel.

Emmerich says that "there are no plans right now for a Nightstalkers film until I see how well Blade: Trinity does on video."

I want to see a Nighstalkers movie. Ryan Reynolds' character was hilarious inthe movie, and Jessica Biel was amazing as well.

I thought Freddy vs Jason was a total utter piece of shit, not because AVP did it much better and all, but the fact that here we have a Super, indestructible, Serial Killer like Jason Voorhees, who after 11 movies, has been run over, beaten up, blown up, chopped up, burned up, run over by a Mack Truck, and blown to Goddamn bits by the Air Force in "Jason Goes To Hell" and STILL comes back to kill more and more and more.. Now with that having been said, there is no fucking way that a killer like Freddy Krueger, a killer infinitely smaller than the Hulking Jason Voorhees, would sling in around a boiler room like a pinball machine and that right there killed the entire movie for me all in 1 breath, Period.. It is very important that when you make a movie with the word "VS" in the title involving to 2 Iconic characters, that you give them both 50/50 equal punishment and Freddy vs Jason showed Freddy making Jason his Bitch and I'm sorry, but the director was clearly more biased toward Freddy than Jason and fuck that.. With that having been said, I'm glad they halted the brakes on another sequel possibly making it far worse.. Just let it lie and move on to AVP II for heaven sakes.. At least the fighting in that was pretty even, more even than in Freddy vs Jason at least..
