Post Remakes: What movies need them and which ones don't?
This thread has been in my head awhile and i finally am getting around to post it. People are always complaining about why remake a certian movie when it doesnt need it. So my question which movies should Hollywood remake and what are that might get onebut aren't need? Also which remakes that have come out did you enjoy?

Manchurian was a brilliant remake. Im looking forward to Amnytivlle horror, only because the first one sucked balls so bad I vomited.

I love remakes. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Dawn of the Dead, The Manchurian Candidate...

All of them are good. I can't wait to see The Amityville Horror.

My philosophy is that only shitty movies with good premises should be remade. I'd remake Final Destination in 20 years.

Some remakes of good movies I love, though. The Thing, The Fly, The Ring. But remakes of good movies that don't need it are pointless even if they are good.

Remakes are good, but only in certain circumstances, where the original film was bad, yet still had a big enough following to make a 'remake' successful.

Get Carter is the best remake ever in my opinion, it is what a remake is all about, it brought Get Carter into the 21st Century, it was modern, upto date, with its music, whilst still maintaining the sauve and 70's look of Jack, with the suits and old-fashioned modes of transport etc.

The story also incorporated modern life, with its 'internet porn' sub-plot. A definate "perfect" movie for me.
