You know, this all sounds good on paper, you know?? Reading this and all, but isn't the whole slasher flick genre pretty well dead in the U.S now??? I'm talking about the slasher flick genre and the killer stalking unsuspecting innocent kids like Friday the 13th or Halloween type of horror??? That might go over well over in Australia but in the U.S, we've already seen this sort of thing a hundred times over..

What are you talking about? There's been plenty of successful slasher films like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Freddy Vs. Jason, and even Halloween: Resurrection, and Wrong Turn were modest hits. They are far from dead. As long as Hollywood makes horror films, they will be successful.
