Re: 101 Greatest Screenplays (WGA)
I have no real disagreements, except a handful.
Add Seven, A Man for all Seasons, and The Exorcist.
Move up L.A. Confidential.
Remove Charlie Kauffman's contributions and maybe Jerry MaGuire too.

Re: 101 Greatest Screenplays (WGA)
Adaptation. is Kaufman's best, in my opinion.
It's a fine list. Lots of good movies, hard to argue with, etc., etc. Glad to see Witness made it. And Broadcast News.
They chose the right Woody Allen movies, though I wouldn't have objected to Zelig, Broadway Danny Rose, Sweet and Lowdown, or Match Point also being present.
I s'pose the improvisation element cost Mike Leigh a mention, even though he's been nominated for several screenwriting Oscars.
Films I'm disappointed to see not included, just for reasons of personal preference (though I am surprised a few of these weren't included):
Barry Lyndon Blowup Brief Encounter Bright Star Doctor Zhivago Heat Howards End In the Company of Men Last Year at Marienbad Lost in Translation Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World 12 Monkeys

Re: 101 Greatest Screenplays (WGA)
Ruth Prawer Jhabvala is the biggest snub, IMO. She's written way too many great movies to be ignored entirely on such a list.

It's a horribly Anglocentric list. It's like they just threw Grand Illusion and 8 1/2 on there as an afterthought.
The 400 Blows needs to be on there. The aforementioned Marienbad. Something by Godard. And that's just in French!

Re: 101 Greatest Screenplays (WGA)
They obviously aren't very big horror fans. No Romero, no early Cronenberg (Scanners, Videodrome), no Les Diaboliques, no Rosemary's Baby, no The Exorcist, no Carrie, no Don't Look Now, no Halloween, no The Shining, no Scream, no 28 Days Later.
Just surprised a few of those didn't slip in.

Re: 101 Greatest Screenplays (WGA)
Some good choices, like all the Wilders and The Lion in Winter. That screenplay is one of the best ever, no doubt about it. But no The Big Heat = utter failure.
How come La grande illusion made it?

Jackie Brown is my favorite Tarantino screenplay. The Jackie/Max Cherry relationship is so great. It's QT's most emotionally charged writing.

I have not read any of the screenplays.

Re: 101 Greatest Screenplays (WGA)
The mixed up Casablanca with His Girl Friday, and Annie Hall with Manhattan. Pretty good list but are these only films that were written by members of the WGA or something? Because there should be far, far more non-english language movies. Having 2 out of 101 is simply ignorant of other culture's imo.
