I'll go after everyone else that's up has gone. It's pretty modern, but there's still a lot of stuff I need to see.

I'm presently at work towards a 200 favorites list. It is almost ready though you can notice the quality bar being lowered the last few spots I've filled in so maybe it needs more time than I think. In any case I expect it should be ready by the Fall. I should start a blog or some way to publish these with commentary, maybe write a book centered on the post-post modern experiences of a jobless (in the field) Communications grad with the cinema. If I can't think of anything you'll definitely see me post it here.

Magnus, how similar would your current list look to the one posted here from 2007?

Exactly. If they don't know how to behave, and feel OK offending others, they get their ass kicked, so they'll think next time before opening their rotten mouths.

top 40 honestly wouldn't change that much. Position may be, but of the film themselves, maybe 3 would be different. 41-100 would be vastly different.

Is se7en still your #1? Cause that would be unfortunate. At least given your description of why.

It's either #2 or #3, depending on whether or not I count Godfather Part I/II as one slot and Star Wars IV-VI as one slot. Godfather I is #1. Though I have constantly shuffled between these three films and probably will forever.

The thing is that when you start judging great films with each other, the factor that really becomes the most important is how that film affected you (at least for me this factor is the most important). That to me is how you rank great films among each other because it's difficult to compare different genres/styles. And Se7en had an impact on me when I was 13 that I still feel every time I watch it. It's a divine piece of work.

I would agree with the concept just not your application. But hey, despite your tendancy to give entertainment too much weight and art too little you still have better taste and critique on film than most of the people here.

Yes, but a less artful one than art.

Is anyone interested in re-posting, updating, or for the many users who never did, post a list for the first time? I think we should start a new thread and stuff, as this is the most interesting and fun read on the board.
I doubt many people would wanna see it, but I'm working on a list that may be ready to post in a month or two.
