Hmm... considering his previous work, Im going to go with disasterpiece. Something I hate with all the fiber of my being, but others think is a masterpiece.

Reminds me a bit of Lonesome Dove, another masterpiece. Not to say that this will be.

I'm certainly hopeful. The cast is excellent and the director's talented.
From a financial standpoint, however, it seems doomed, at least domestically.

Yeah i dont know. Its getting alot of buzz here but thats to be expected. It could end up a Cold Mountain - some acclaim but no real awards and solid but not spectacular BO. The only thing is I hate the title!! Terrible. Like calling a film set on a US ranch "America" or in the hills of Tuscany "Italy" or Legends of the Fall "Montana" etc. Just doesnt sound right.

I'm going to see it opening day, but yeah, it all sounds a little iffy -- especially the long delay since MR -- but ya gotta have hope!

Yeah, it just seems... lazy. Unless the place has an interesting or obscure name (ala Fargo), you should never name your film after the place its set in.
