Well, I disagree with number one, but I love 2 and 7. That death scene in Fulci's Gathes of Hell is one of the all time classic deaths and to this day I still think they killed that guy. You try to find him, he doesn't exist. And the walking on the hands scene in FRiday 3 is great.

Ron Burgundy: Brick, I've been meaning to talk to you about that. You should find yourself a safehouse or a relative close by. Lay low for a while, because you're probably wanted for murder.

Meh, Samuel L. Jackson's death in Deep Blue Sea tops any of those. Neat list, if only because it doesn't go for what you'd expect.

Well I can't really appreciate the ranking, as I've only seen one of those top ten. But I have to thank Termi for even having seen that one.
I think I'm a closet horror fan. I can only sit thriough one a year, but I have to admit the ones I have sat through ( 3 of Romero's and 2 of Argento's) I actually think are quite good.

Great list. The number one choice is unconventional and by no means what I would choose (not least because its nowhere near as iconic as some of the others) but it's still pretty cool. The death by liquid nitrogen thing's been done before (Demolition Man), but there's something genuinely great about the nonchalant way Jason just dips her head in and smashes it in two swift motions, then dropping her body to the floor like a rag-doll.

For my part, I'd nominate Society's "let's get to the bottom of this" death in the final orgy scene.
And that dude literally turning into shit in The Gate 2.

Number 1 is really unconventional because the movie it comes from (Jason X) was pretty forgettable and mostly bad. Still, the death was cool...

Despite the fact that Jason X is awful, I do love that death scene.

Hahahahah Jason X number 1, I think I shit my pants.
Yea the death is allright, but come on, noone thinks of Jason X
I would put the girl that gets killed in the throat by the axe by the other girl in the Descent was insane when I saw that.
The thing is good.
It seems there just really all about the gore though. Even so, kinda fun to watch. That The Thing death is absolutely classic though.

Those are some good straight-up death scenes without considering context. Nasty though, Jesus. I'd like to see top-ten death scenes in the context of the movie...Like the ones people were either really rooting for or didn't expect...

Ha, I've seen that 2nd one thats City of the dead or something like that? Did you see the finale death of Dont Torture a duckling, the whipping scene in that is pretty intense as well.

That first one is just vile, by the third minute of spiders crawling on the guy to porno music I had had just about enough. That said, the second one was much better artistically. Absolutely repulsive, but well done if that's your sort of thing.
