Post The Fountain hype!
So, what reviews of the Fountain have you guys read so far?? I've only seen the Hollywood Reporter's, and though it wasn't very nice, it wasn't horrific either. I think the movie will be a big hit at the box office, but the critics will be as they always are.

I want to see it also, but the commercials are advertising the good reviews they received from PLAYBOY!!!!

Not a good sign if you ask me. I thought this was supposed to be a good movie.

Chud's incredibly gushing review (9.8, NEVER seen that on their site before) is enough to make me see this opening day alone. The fact that it looks incredible is a plus though.

The movie should be good, regardless of RT and other indicators. Worth the viewing based on subject matter alone.

It's been half a month since I've seen this so my feelings about the movie have become more clear.

The visual effects and acting were outstanding. But it wasn't edited together very well, like half the movie was probably on the cutting floor which didn't make the movie flow too well. But at the same time, it felt more like a two and a half hour movie rather than a 96-minute movie.

The subject matter was very profound, but the film didn't do it enough justice in terms of editing/putting the whole movie together. It felt like potentially something truly ambitious great was imagined and conceived, but it merely came across as "good" in its final form as the movie. A low B.

I cant wait for this regardless of what the critics say.

96 minutes does seem short - so perhaps a director's cut may come out later that is superior.

Reviews haven't been stellar (not bad, either), but it's still one of my most anticipated for the rest of the year.

I'm kind of unenthused to see this, which surprises me a little considering its pedigree.

I've seen it, it's confusing as hell and unfortunately very mediocre IMO

I heard it's a very ambitious concept dragged down by horrible editing. Is that true?

It is ambitious enough to stir lots of discussions among moviegoers about the possible meaning(s) of it all. I'm not sure whether the confusion and disorientation it surely will evoke is a result of sloppy editing or has been there in the script already. Aronofsky reportedly changed the script a lot to serve the lower budget after Pitt went out. IMO it is too ambitious for its own good. Oh and btw, I think this poster might be a bot or plant. And the movie definitely won't be a big hit, it wil be lucky to get its budget back

From the very first teaser I saw the film looked terribly pretentious and wannabe "deep" to me...
