 Alba Talks Fantastic Four 2
"We start 'Fantastic Four 2' in August," said Alba. "The four of us learn that there are other people out there with superpowers, and the Silver Surfer appears as a villain/hero. And another villain comes in as well. My character, Susan Storm, has another love triangle and may use a power people haven't seen before. She's the most powerful of the four."

they'd be hard-pressed to make it much WORSE than the first one. Wow, what a debacle. Even a smashingly good-looking Alba couldn't come close to saving it.

I just have a feeling it may pull off a Tomb Raider 2. Incidently both of the sequels to their follow up was only 2 years apart and the original did good on dvds

That's a complicated response. What do you mean by this? Tomb Raider 2 audience is split down the middle between "marginally better" and "slightly worse".

I mean ticket receipts but at least no one is going to defend the movie here in the forums except BKB

Yeah, I think box-office wise the 2007 sweepstakes will kind of kill it. I'll say 39/84 for now. The legs will be horrific.

If the marketing will be as kick-ass as for the first one, it will still break $120 million.

I think the reason why Fantastic Four was a fluke was because marketting was geared towards letting us know about each character. I guess the mystique is gone now an they will be concentrating on the villian which would take away the interest already from the movie. I could see it pulling a TR2 meaning about 80 million gross but I cant see it going higher than 120 million

Good point Ratner - the character introductions helped it - but I think the 2005 marketing has done enough to get people to watch a sequel. It did well among kids and families - so I think its still good for $100-$120m. Competition is fierce in Summer 07 but it has the benefit of being in the weakest (which is still good) month of summer 07 - June!

Here's the thing with this movie: In order to REALLY do this justine, to do it right, FOX is going to have to up the budget BIG TIME to make GALACTUS even look remotely realistic that the audience will buy as well as The SILVER SURFER who will probably be Villain in the beginning and hero at the end if he turns on GALACTUS or vice versa. I'd say anything less than 200 Million for the budget FX wise and this will look Polarizing..

How about using the budget to give the Thing a CGI look instead of looking like a halloween costume like Doctor Doom? Will some guy wear a big tin head and call himself GALACTUS?

I totaly agree with this and I said that since day 1 before the 1st film was even released.. They should've went with an all CGI THING and for the love of God, MADE HIM BIGGER...
