Poseidon running time is only 98 minutes this information i get from my local theatres website. and i was shocked  i can't believe waht i saw really. i was expecting this movie will be at least 2 hours like TDAT. if this is true. i will be really dissapointed. i just hope this isn't true.

Good, I dont need an overlong disaster film. This makes me wanna see it more, ofcourse thats only if they have it on an IMAX screen here.

It is surprising, but I won't complain. I'd rather have a great 98 minute movie than a padded 120 minute one. Sometimes I watch the extended version DVDs and say "Hey, I can see now why they took these scenes out."

A great film is never too long and a bad film is always too long.

...according to who? This sounds more reasonable, actually, but what's your source?

That's what most sites are saying :) Fangango has it at 98 minutes, but they also had A LOT LIKE LOVE at like 147 minutes, and NARNIA at 178 minutes, so they can't always be trusted ;)

To be honest, it looks like this film may have other problems.

The original was 117 minutes long according to IMDB.com, including credits. The film itself may be 98 minutes, but it may not include credits so it may be closer to 110 when all is said and done.

they probably cut everything with Fergie BEP out when the audience started to vomit uncontrolably every time she was onscreen.

Supposedly the movie is pretty short, read it in a review. I don't like it either but oh, well...

Does anyone else think that, despite being a disposable summer blockbuster, the movie looks surprisingly boring?

I mean, at least The Day After Tomorrow and Independence Day and its ilk didn't take themselves all that seriously, this looks like they're going for Titanic 2.0.

well nothing really grabs me about the actual concept.
I mean ive already seen the wave that does it in the trailer. Wheres the rest of the disaster? You know what I mean? Theres not going to be much spectacle and thats something disaster movies need.

Michael is on to something. Tight corridors, falls in and out of water, fire, seems very ho-hum.

The meeting of different people, extreme circumstances, working together to reach a common goal, the group dinamic, forming of relationships, tensions, these are all things i like...

There won't be much of that in 98 minutes (if the short running time is true). At best, we'll learn all the little quirks and issues in the few minutes before the wave hits.

These things usually happen after the disaster hits. ;)

No no no, follow the Irwin Allen model.

Introduce characters (heavy drinker, blind follower, gambler, whore...) disaster hits, people die, people live, insert song.

I'm actually not really interested either. There's so many other awesome ass blockbusters coming out this summer, I might end up waiting for DVD.

No Jack and Rose, no. At least i don't think so. Difficult to squeeze that in when your movie runs for only 98 minutes.

there's got to be a morning after.

I love the South Park episode that used the song.
