 The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Thread
Oh man, I hope this turns out to be true. Be prepared for potential spoilers, though: THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 is currently in production and we've seen a whole slew of images, both from director Marc Webb via Twitter and from a number of on-the-ground sources snapping set pics. Thus far, it's been a very interesting film to watch develop, as the filmmakers work their hardest to keep details under wrapsk, while shooting in the public eye. Not an easy thing to do these days. Today, comicbookmovie has the inside word that actor Colm Feore (THOR) will be playing none other than Adrian Toomes AKA The Vulture in the superhero sequel.
Given that Feore's role has been kept under wraps with absolutely no mention of who he's playing, it sounds perfectly legit, especially when you look at Feore. It's pitch perfect casting. How much of a role Feore's Vulture plays in the sequel is unknown, but CBM says that is will be bigger than we may think, saying:
"...apparently he will join forces with Rhino, Electro and Green Goblin to form the first four members of The Sinister Six, setting them up for the threequel." http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/has-col ... ider-man-2YES!!! I have been waiting for this ( ) ever since Raimi's first film and I wish this had been the route he had gone for with the third movie.

I think most of them will play a small role in the second film. The build-up is towards the third film that will see the birth of Sinister Six. The problem with, say, Spider-Man 3 (which is hated more than it deserves anyay) was that the villains didn't interact. They were just there, individually. And Raimi fucked up Venom because he hates the character.
The Sinister Six, as a team, can work well. It has worked well in the comics and it has worked well in the animated series. This is a great way to up the ante and a right way too.I mean, would you like them to rehash Doc Ock by himself again and Green Goblin and then try on Venom?

As long as they have one major villain and the others play a minor role (at least until the final scene or after credits). I think it can work very well. They need to do it so as to not completely rehash the Raimi films.
In a way - the third film may be a bit of a reverse Avengers - 6 villains - 1 hero. Could work well with auds if handled similarly.
BTW - they may also be heading towards the demise of Gwen Stacey in this film or the next??

ehh I still really love ASM and this can be contributed a bit to a good amount of Stone Cold Fox hotness.

No actually I preferred ASM to TDKR and Avengers overall. Perhaps due to expectations. But I know that's a minority opinion.

Found ASM extremely predictable and cheesy- Emma Stone carried the movie.

The Sinister Six was pretty cool in the Spider-Man musical.

The Amazing Spider-Man was better than it had any right to be.

Magnus wrote: Dr. Lecter wrote: The Amazing Spider-Man was better than it had any right to be. Probably true cause it deserved to be shit and wasn't. But it wasn't very good either. Though I feel some people overrated it because it wasn't as bad as they thought they would be. And cause they're crazy over Stone Cold Fox. Don't have any excitement for this film unless the trailer blows me away. I thought it was pretty good, even if redundant. - The villain was shit. Well, in human form Ifans was solid, but th Lizard just doesn't translate well to a movie, I suppose. The giant talkig lizard looked bad. - Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield wrre great and had much better chemistry than Dunst anhd Maguire ever had. These two made the movie and don't understimate that. - The origins part was fun and no worse than that in Raimi's film - except redundant. - It also had good humor bits and I love how they actually created an ongoing mystery in the first film.

TASM 3 - Sinister Six? TASM 4 - Venom/Carnage?
Sounds like a plan to me.

I was bored with Webb's first film, but everything that's been announced re: the sequel seems like a step in the right direction. Would love for this to be the Spider-Man 2 of, uh, second Spider-Man films.

Magnus wrote: Seems like they're trying way too hard to cram stuff in and elevate the scale of the film and it's probably going to be a mess.
Multiple villains, Harry/Peter storyline, Peter's parents mystery, Peter/Gwen, Peter/MJ, Felicia Hardy, etc. It's going to get messy. Given that they have set the dates for two more films, I assume that they will just hint some of the stuff in the second film and to further in the third.

Jurassic Park 4's been announced for 10 years now. They have just made yet another promo poster for it and 2015 release date.
