Indeed. A shame, IMO.

Probably could've been avoided if we used the passion/ranking system here also.

But no A Beautiful Mind for score? I love that score. :(

I think since the score was also used for those midnight herpes medication commercials, it was uncomfortable for some.

Or was it erectile dysfunction?

Geesh, guys, I actually made an error with Jamie Foxx. On my saved top nominees pages, Jamie Foxx was not there, but in the actual voting counts, Jamie Foxx should be included. I'll post the actual counts of the top contendors to show you, even though I didn't want to do so since I thought it would sway winner voting:

Adrian Brody (The Pianist) - 11
Bill Murray (Lost in Translation) - 14
Daniel Day-Lewis (Gangs of New York) - 14
Denzel Washington (Training Day) - 10
Don Cheadle (Hotel Rwanda) - 7
Ethan Hawke (Before Sunset) - 7
Guy Pearce (Memento) - 9
Jack Nicholson (About Schmidt) - 8
Jamie Foxx (Ray) - 11
Jim Carrey (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) - 13
Johnny Depp (Pirates of the Caribbean) - 18
Leonardo DiCaprio (The Aviator) - 10
Paul Giamatti (Sideways) - 10
Russel Crowe (A Beautiful Mind) - 10
Sean Penn (Mystic River) - 12
Tom Hanks (Cast Away) - 15

In which case, Jamie Foxx should be the final nominee. I apologize guys.

PEACE, Mike.

I know you're doing that in jest, but I don't want people to be taking this as a joke. That is the actual nominee count, and I made an error and have been big enough to admit so. So shush it.

I'm moving on to Best Director now.

PEACE, Mike.

Okay, Best Director has 12 nominees. It was probably the second most dispersed category, behind Best Supporting Actress. Once again, the nominees will be presented in no particular order.

3, of the 12 total nominees, are:

Peter Jackson (The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King)

Baz Luhrrman (Moulin Rouge)

Clint Eastwood (Million Dollar Baby)

And the final 3 nominees for Best Director are:

Darren Aronofsky (Requiem for a Dream)

Ang Lee (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon)

Ridley Scott (Gladiator)

And then we're onto the final category: BEST PICTURE!

I desperately hope at least The Hours gets in because I know Far From Heaven aint that big a possibility

But Kill Bill is a must and so is Before Sunset to get on!
