Re: Matthew Vaughn out of X-Men: First Class 2; Bryan Singer
And you used them correctly, I found it funny that you messed up using "was" instead of "were"
I think the one important thing from the Xmen franchise from every other superhero franchise is the action scenes. They are usually extremely well choreographed, well viewed, sometimes hilarious, and almost all are memorable. I don't know why so many superhero films fail on this aspect but I remember every action film from every X-Men film.
The biggest things between the first 2 and 3 is the little things. 2 has two of my favorite things almost in any film even non superhero. The "Too Much Iron in your Blood" and when a huge badass group of commandos get the pins from their grenades pulled out, that shot and music cue of magneto dropping all the pins after they are all dead is hilarious, badass, and just awesome.
Too bad Kelsey Grammer couldn't return as Beast for this one. He was perfect casting in 3. Not to say Nick was bad though.

Re: Matthew Vaughn out of X-Men: First Class 2; Bryan Singer
I never liked the third movie and I have a few reasons. The biggest was the deaths, particularly Cyclops. His death seemed so pointless and did nothing for the film. I wasn't a fan of Xavier's death either. Then you had the let down of the Phoenix saga. Dark Phoenix is one of the best X-Men stories and it wasn't done very well. It was built up well in X2 but Ratner was the wrong person to finish it. It sucked that Singer wasn't given a chance to finish what he began, another reason I am happy that he is directing the newest X-Man film.

cool great news, just as long as he isn't the time traveler. I would rather not see it again become Wolverine and the X-Men.

It is unreal how many times he has played Wolverine but he has been so great at it that I can't picture anyone else.

Well, that is within 14 years.
By 2015 Robert Downey Jr. will have played Tony Stark six times (two The Avengers, three Iron Manand The Incredible Hulk) and that IF there is no cameo of him in either Catpain America 2 or Thor 2 or Guardians of the Galaxy. That's within seven years!

It's a matter of time until Robert Downey Jr. decides he wants to walk away fom Tony Stark or reduce him to cameo appearances only.

Samuel L. Jackson will be in a similar film number soon as Nick Fury. He has already played Fury 5 times and who knows if he will have cameos in Iron Man 3, CA2, or Thor 2.

Re: Matthew Vaughn out of X-Men: First Class 2; Bryan Singer
I think at some point, he'll probably set his sights more on an Oscar rather than huge paychecks. I mean with Tony Stark and Sherlock Holmes he'll earn a boatload of money in the next couple of years.
It has been confirmed that Jackson will be in CA2, but not in Iron Man 3.
He signed a 9-movies-deal with Marvel.

Yeah I remember that, so he will probably play Fury at least 9 times.

I remember reading the Downeys (Robert is run by his wife) felt very burned by The Soloist's failure, with her saying Robert is done with Oscar movies for a long time.

Just make films people like and that are good. Downey is right in rejecting the "oscar" movie. He's been on a hot streak ever since.

It's not like he didn't win a Golden Globe for Sherlock and nominated for an Academy Award for Tropic Thunder

True but RDJ went from being forgotten to one of the biggest stars now and thats due to being Iron Man.
Its his personality, the reason why Iron Man is soo popular is because of RDJ..
Usually for superhero films its the other way around...

Re: Matthew Vaughn out of X-Men: First Class 2; Bryan Singer
http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=98349I figured I'd put this in here to avoid clutter. Hugh Jackman let slip today that in The Wolverine someone from the original trilogy will make a cameo in the film. That's awesome, I wonder who it would be. 1. Most rumors suggest Rogue as she and him always had the strongest relationship, and it would make the most sense for me. Also while she is famous, I'm sure she'd love to be a part of a big film again. Only problem is going with continuity she doesn't have powers anymore. 2. Storm. Halle Berry and Hugh Jackman are great friends, and friends always do cameos. In many future storylines they do have a romantic involvement as well, especially in Days of Future Past. 3. Professor Xavier. Will they finally bring him back from the dead as they teased in the post credits of X-men. Since The Wolverine could be a film about discovery, a spiritual cameo could be cool as well. What are your thoughts?

Wow, I'd have never expected Ellen Page to return to this franchise. Her involvement in the third film seems so...um, random (?) looking back at it.

Lol, major article fail Quote: Still, neither Bryan Singer nor the film's director, Brett Ratner, has confirmed much about the film's plot. Scheduled to begin production this month

With Ellen Page coming back, it looks like she will be probably be the time traveler. I can't see her agreeing to just a cameo. It would be cool to see Rogue and Iceman again, but I hope Rogue will fly this time.

Re: Matthew Vaughn out of X-Men: First Class 2; Bryan Singer
I think people are forgetting outside of Juno and Inception which will already be 4 years ago, Ellen Page honestly hasn't done shit, outside of that, "oh my teacher is in Japan" commercial. Why wouldn't she return? Yeah for Anna Paquin. It will be interesting how much of X3 they actually incorporate now. No reason Halle Berry won't return, but more importantly I hope they get the guy who played Colossus back.
