So looking at FOX projects in development...there's a whole lot of shit that's probably DOA. Pretty much every non-Deadpool related X-movie in development (Gambit/X-Force/X13/Multiple Man/every other "Untitled Marvel Film" on the release schedule). X-Men: Dark Phoenix and New Mutants are essentially lame duck films.

That Die Hard prequel has got to be kaput. Lol at the idea that Disney would move forward with more Ridley Scott Alien pictures.

re: Deadpool:

"It [Deadpool] clearly has been and will be Marvel branded. But we think there might be an opportunity for a Marvel-R brand for something like Deadpool," said Iger. "As long as we let the audiences know what's coming, we think we can manage that fine."

So maybe Deadpool and it's sequels/spin-offs would be labelled something like "Marvel Knights"?

I don't think X-Force is dead since it would involve Deadpool and Cable. I figure that would be R rated and would be separate. However, I hope we get to see other Marvel characters interact with Deadpool. Sure Dark Phoenix is a lame duck, but I think that was the case regardless. This was going to be the last film for most of that cast anyways. Who can say with New Mutants since it is a very different thing and it could actually be considered separate.

It's actually one of the best things to happen ever if it means more Die Hard sequels are scrapped.

They won't be scrapped. They will just be rated PG now.

Why won't they be scrapped? I don't see Disney caring about any property that isn't highly profitable. Die Hard is a joke now. In terms of films, Disney just wanted Fox for X-Men, Daredevil, Deadpool, and Fantastic Four in terms of adding to the MCU, and Planet of the Apes, Avatar, Ice Age, and the original Star Wars in terms of other biggies. I can also see Disney happy to receive Night at the Museum, Home Alone, Doctor Dolittle, and Alvin and the Chipmunks. But not Die Hard. It's a dead franchise. And it's an action franchise that should be rated R...not really something Disney does.

While Disney making another Die Hard movie with Bruce Willis is probably less than 50%, I have no doubt there will be more Die Hard movies. It's a shame they already tried and failed at the "passing the torch" installment. I just don't want the series to end on fucking A Good Day to Die Hard.

Agreed re: a Home Alone remake and rebooted Alvin are sure things.

The almost certain final nail in Ridley Scott's take on Alien make me truly happy though. Series needs fresh blood so badly.
