It's mind-boggling that FOX and these other studios don't run background checks on every single castmember. I run background checks on people multiple times a week for work, it's easy and cheap. There's no excuse for this to be a surprise.

He served his time, must these people be forever punished? There's no point in having prison sentences if society doesn't abide by them. He's still paying for his mistake. It's a shame really, that society is forced to accept all these different new weirdos like transsexuals but are so short-sighted that they can never bring themselves to forgive this kind of mistake.

That's worthy of discussion. There should absolutely be a path to redemption for anyone once they've served time.

I think the problem here is that Black concealed his friend's history from three different studios and casts and then downplayed the guy's actions when called on it by the press. Now he says it was a mistake and that he didn't know the extent of the crimes because his friend lied and he wouldn't have hired him. That actually makes shit worse.

It's a shame this didn't work out. Shane Black + Predator seemed to be about as safe a bet as you can make.

You've got to wonder if this and Alien: Covenant are the end of the line for these franchises in their current form. When Disney decides to dust them off again they're going to need a completely new approach. Reboot, redesign the creatures, change up their MO, how their worlds look, etc.
