It's obvious he pirates the majority of them. I mean for one, he has already seen Vampires Suck.

I try to watch just about everything, too bad I don't get paid to like the majority of others who watch everything. ;) But every once in a while it ends up being worth it, sure I could easily drop 50 bad movies I've seen so far this year but I also would have never seen stuff like City Island and The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo if I didn't watch everything, and I'm glad I didn't miss out on those two.

It depends on yourself and your taste.

I won't watch any horror movie no matter the reviews and even if the trailer looks great to me simply because I don't find any fun in it. I'm not going to look back and say 'That was fun' or 'That was a good movie' and after you know what's happened, there's no point in watching it again. Comedies/family movies(which are really mostly comedies) work the same way except you may laugh the first time making it fun. Some comedies are still good over time but stuff like Borat are not.

So if you are against animated films like some people are, or are the macho-guy type, or are the girly-girl type etc chances are you won't want to see a shitload of movies even before the trailer's out. Some can accept any and everything and thus watch whatever they want.

Judging by what you see, it seems you only like Pixar, R-rated comedies and action flicks for the first 8-9 months of the year before switching to what is Oscar-worthy. That would be like 25% of the year really considering all the non-R rated comedies, chick flicks, horrors, thrillers, dramas, documentaries etc. that release throughout the year.

I am so torn between Inception, Greenberg, and The Ghost Writer for my #1 spot. ;) There's a "case" for each. Decisions, decisions.

I still have Toy Story 3 ranked a hair above Inception (saw both twice now and have them in the top 2 like most everybody else). The latter is more ambitious and much harder to pull off, but the former still feels more perfect overall, emotionally and artistically. They're two of the best films in any years though.

I like how this year has mostly been unremarkable and then I saw three wonderful, wonderful, wonderful films (Toy Story 3, Inception, Kids Are All Right) in the span of less than a month. And I saw the latter two movies back-to-back nights.

I didn't feel incredibly strong about Kids. The performances are all as great as they could have been with what was an average script. It's solid, but doesn't reach the humor or emotional resonance of Little Miss Sunshine, a movie I fell in love with.

It's still in my top 5, just because this year has been so weak outside of Toy Story 3 and Inception (and to a lesser extent HTTYD).

Yeah it's not as good as Little Miss Sunshine, but I still adored it.

I see a lot of people still have TS3 above Inception, so it could be close. Some opinions could change half a year from now as well. I can't wait for my second viewing of Inception (this time in IMAX), but it's definitely not topping TS3 which I've seen 4 times and is a definite A+. I didn't give any A+'s in 2009 so I doubt 2010 will be able to deliver a better film than Toy Story 3.

I've seen 13 movies from this year so far. More than half of them are not good. So here are five that were good:

01. A Prophet (Jacques Audiard)
02. Valhalla Rising (Nicolas Winding Refn)
03. Shutter Island (Martin Scorsese)
04. The Crazies (Breck Eisner)
05. The Human Centipede (First Sequence) (Tom Six)

The Back-Up Plan
Micmacs
MacGruber
The Last Airbender

(All of the other really good movies I've seen this year are: Youth in Revolt, Defendor, The Crazies, Chloe, The Runaways, The Trotsky, Letters to Juliet)

As of July 23rd, I have had to make a couple of adjustments to my working draft of my 2010 Top Ten List to make room for two extraordinary movies I've seen in the past fortnight: The Sorcerer's Apprentice and Mr. Nobody.

So here is my current top ten list (in date order of being seen):

Daybreakers
Frozen
The Ghost Writer
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo
The Back-Up Plan
Micmacs
MacGruber
The Last Airbender
The Sorcerer's Apprentice
Mr. Nobody

(All of the other really good movies I've seen this year are: Youth in Revolt, Defendor, The Crazies, Chloe, The Runaways, The Trotsky, Letters to Juliet, She's Out Of My League, The Book of Eli.)

((Sadly, a couple of promising films that I had hoped might make an appearance on my top ten list turned out to be crap, but don't worry - - there's an excellent chance that Inception and The Girl Who Played With Fire will find room on my Worst of 2010 list!))

You should. It's pretty amazing. I think it's interesting that it and Inception were released on the same weekend. It's the antithesis of Nolan's movie.

And yes, I did. Also tremendous. I've heard his Pusher trilogy is kind of not very good, though.
