Ouch, Robots has officially become rotten, and it's only heading down. This is me regretting my 39 million prediction just because of the theater count... at this point I'm thinking 30-35 million.
Its probably gonna do closer to 50mil  Using the yahoo reviews

But it's on the Yahoo main page, and anything on there has consistently gotten a HUGELY inflated ratio.

On the subject of Robots, I'm guessing the film will do decently and open over 40+ simply because it's animated with so many "big" names lending their voices to it. I was going to buy a ticket to it just to see the ROTS trailer on the big screen and then switch tickets to see something else, but there isn't anything worth seeing at the theatre right now, so I'll just wait for Ring 2 to come out for that and in the meantime download the ROTS trailer.

Really, people are kind of slamming it though? Even if its ok, I also think their is a bit of saturation in the market right now. 2 or 3 of the highest grossers last year were 3d animation, so are people going to start losing enthusiasm like they did after Lion King for 2d?

Welcome nightvision.

Even with a higher ratio it'll still do excellent on Friday and obviously have a huge increase on Saturday. Im not sure what ratio to give Robots so will have to wait for xiayun ;) But anyways with these great #'s every hour that are staying very steady we can expect some nice Friday #'s Dont forget it also has a B+ on yahoo, who cares what RT has to say, when people are enjoying it.

Those reviews don't have an influence on first weekend, and in many cases not even afterwards, just take a look at Shark Tale's legs which were good despite a rotten rating. I'm sure Robots will do just fine, people and their kiddies will again be flocking to theaters to see the newest CGI crap...

Na man, it won't have a huge boost on Saturday because a lot of people have Spring Break this week, which will deflate the multiplier.

I'm not too sure why everybody keeps saying Robots has a "rotten" rating. It is currently at 65% and still "fresh".

It's going back and forth on a tightrope, some more fresh reviews got added. But still, 65% for a CGI kids movie is pretty bad compared to most of them. Oh, and by the way, you guys got schooled. \:D/

Thanks Dolcevita.

Looks like 40+ isn't happening unless the families turned out big on saturday and sunday. What a disappointment but I guess I should have seen it coming. Who wants to watch an animated film about Robots that look THAT weird.

Well, where I went it was almost sold out and the general crowd reaction was very positive.

Robots is an okay movie. It reminds me a lot of Ice Age and Antz. Forgettable but not overly offensive to my senses. I got a few chuckles out of it, and I thought even the short bit of fart humor was kind of funny, although the joke got older in scene after scene. It's not as bad as the HORRIBLE Shark Tale (did Will Smith scream every line in that movie) and Mel Brooks is cute as Bigweld. Everyone else didn't really amount to anything, or the characters weren't iconic enough to make an impact.

The voice talent (other than Brooks) is servicable but never really rises above the level of "meh", accept Robin Williams who is trying his best to be a cross between his own Genie from Aladdin and Eddie Murphy's Donkey from Shrek.

But the characters just kind of "were" and the villians were kind of limp and the whole thing was pretty eh...
