It just goes to show thedy are doomed and theres no fucking way to become undoomed.....only to avoide it for a little amount of time and then it co,mes back for you "the Ring 2"

The Grudge did not make me excited anmd the cast was bland so very bland as least the ring had a good cast.
I'm sorry but The RING sucked major ass.. Maybe it's because I'm alot older now and what scares teens so easily today doesn't affect me in the least.. Now I just rented The Grudge on my way to work tonight to watch tomorrow when I get home and for all the praise and hype this movies getting, it better be good or I'm gonna tear this apart folks as only I would do best..

I think we all know your opinion on it now. No need to restate yourself everytime someone posts.
And for the record, a movie having a twist ending where the main star is shown in a life-threatening scene but then is in the sequel is absolutely nothing new in the horror genre.

I'm not suprised in the least theres gonna be a second. I knew there was gonna be one when I saw the ending i'm sure it will do very well and I will probably see it just to see how it ends. I might need to watch it again to actually enjoy in though I was pretty depressed when I watched it and that might have changed my mind a bit about it.

That may true, but making $115 million dollars on a $10 million dollar budget is quite impressive. If they do make a sequel, and it doesn't have Sarah Michelle Gellar I don't think it is going to matter. I think her character isn't needed, she clearly was doomed at the end of the first, and if they brought her back it really wouldn't make any sense. It would raise a lot of questions like "What's so special about her?" "Why isn't she dead? She went into the house too!" It just wouldn't be plausible. If they did bring her back, they better explain in the story how she escaped the curse, and it better make some sense, otherwise I'm not going to be too thrilled about it. I believe the sequel will be a success, but I don't see it making more than the original. I see it making about $50-$80 million, which is still very good. By the way I loved The Grudge. I just bought it on DVD yesterday!

What I liked most about The Grude was that it didn't have any false scares. When something/someone pops out of nowhere it made me jump and scream everytime. Most horror movies today fail miserably at attempting to scare their audience. The Ring had those moments as well, but I must say after watching both of them I prefer The Grudge. Probably because it is more fast paced, and everything happens quickly, unlike The Ring. It dragged a lot of some parts, it starting getting much better towards the last 20 minutes of the film, but I just find The Grudge better.

I agree...sorta...both had their scares. I think Ring was scarier, but thats not to say grudge didnt freak the shit out of me...SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER
Especially the part near the end where the girl is crawling down the stairs... :shivers:
Pink, maybe what you like more about grudge is that it has more in your face scares, and scares pretty much throughout the whole movie, whereas ring relys on story and scares?

That could be right Bill, but one things for sure. I am about 100% certain that The Ring 2 will blow the original, and The Grudge out of the water. The trailer was incredible.
