Nope, we each described in our own words what we found wrong with the movie. We all just all came to the conclusion that the ending needed alot improvement. It made absolutely no sense for the apparitions to make physical contact with Keaton when all they can do is influence a person's judgement. We all agreed that Keaton's death destroyed any sense of closure for his wife. In the Sixth Sense at least we get some closure of Bruce Willis meeting up with his wife and telling her goodbye. Keaton's character hasnt settled anything at all with his wife. I also know you may think its a dark ending but a dark ending supposed to compose of elements he may not know about his wife blah blah blah.

Nope. We just dont like dumb twists in movies like Basic. I dont really care if you want killer mimes or clowns to be the unexpected suspect in your horror movies but I sure dont

I have a differing opinion of the ending. Jonathan was not able to come to terms with his wife's death. Granted when he died he was no longer able to be the father he originally was, however, when he died you saw him in the white noise with his wife, and that he had found her.

I guess it was a sort of unusual ending, but I thought that it was good.

I must have missed this thread.

Here is my 2 cents. This movie is far better than the critics and some of the posters have said IMHO. It has a very good premise and is very well acted. The director could have gone for a lot of cheap scares but to his credit he didn't.

Also, this marks the return of Keaton in a good role and is already a success \:D/

I also read somewhere that they cut quite a bit of the movie and they might add it back in the DVD release. They also said that the policeman had a bigger role and the cuts hurt the movie towards the end . Has anybody else heard about this?

There's now an "Extreme Unrated Version!". They used it for Harold & Kumar, and it contained absolutely no extra content in the movie itself. These are just marketing ploys. I've only seen a couple of movies that actually have more than 1 minute of additional footage, whether they claim 10-15 minutes or not.

Some of the "Unrated" DVDs are totally un-needed. A few that I've seen:

White Chicks
Anchorman
Pearl Harbor
DareDevil (R-Rated)
Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle
The Girl Next Door
Dawn of the Dead

the list goes on...

The unrated DOTD DVD is actually quite good, and improves on the film in many aspects.

I agree with the others, though. Espically the Girl Next Door one. Did they add anything to that?

A big "Huh?" on the Daredevil. The R-rated Director's Cut adds a hell of a lot of content to the film.
