Relax Nancy. Flava took 5 1/2 days. I'll be done in 7.

I don't believe any time you put on anything. You said that your Chuck Norris signature would be gone within 1 week....that was 8 weeks ago. So I'll expect your Top 100 to be finished at around Christmas.

29. Silence of the Lambs (1991)

I'm pretty much a fan of all the films outside of Hannibal. Though I do prefer Red Dragon to Manhunter. It's be easy to say that Hopkins performance stays with you long after the film is done. But all of SOTL stays with you for a while. Dark, superbly acted, and is more horrific than most horror films. Raises the age old debate of whether if they're not horror films but still terrify you, how are they not horror films?

Image
28. Psycho (1960)

We followup with another story that has some inspiration from the story of Ed Gein. I love Hitchcock films and while it's easy to take his two most widely loved films and put them on my list, they are exactly that. It's eerie, mysterious, and plays on your fears. Awesome cinematography, music, and acting too if your interested.

Image
27. Hot Fuzz (2007)

I'm not sure, I always considered Shaun of the Dead the better film, but dam this film is so much fun. Much like Shaun, it's not just hilarious and plays on multiple genres, it's also a very effective mystery/cop/action film. And Timothy Dalton returns from the beyond to give one of the most hilarious characters I've seen in some time.

Image
26. The Princess Bride (1987)

"Hello, my name is Indigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die"

Mandy Patinkin delivers the performance of his career in this awesome romantic comedy/ action fantasy from Carl Reiner. My favorite sword fight of all time, endlessly quotable, and it's a wonderful looking film. Reiner made some really great films, I really wanted to fit When Harry met Sally on here, but The Princess Bride is still tops for me.

Image
25. Back to the Future Part II (1989) (And the series!)

The whole series is wonderful, all with different strengths, but Part II has always worked the best for me. I feel it takes the most chances, and the time travel problems were always the most interesting for me. The characters playing multiple roles are a riot. And I am still in awe how well Zemeckis integrated the 2nd film into the first. I also feel cliffhanger is always a tricky plot device, but I think Part II is one of the rare exceptions of pulling it off well. The scene in the rain, and coming back to 55 Doc is just awesome! The effects throughout the series hold up well. The cast always seems to be having fun, and the score is one of the best.

You should have included Chain Saw Massacre and gone for the Gein trifecta.

And most don't mind as it gives them time to prepare their lists. Keep the pace, Thegun.

The Conversation is a thriller about paranoia and conspiracy theories with barely any real action in it, French or the other ones you mentioned are mostly action oriented, with Serpico being the closest in tone to Coppola's film, although still very different.

Prepare their lists. lol

Not much preparation is needed when everyone choose the same films.

Dude, I conceded it was a flimsy, rushed comparison. Blow me.

I'm directly after Thegun, but I won't be here for the next few weeks as I am going back to the UK to take care of business. So..I will post my list now. I don't care if anyone comments on the list (in fact, they probably won't out of protest), but I need to post it now otherwise this thread will be dead when I return. I will start soon. My list is a Top 125, and I've spent all day compiling it.

If it's a TOP 100 thread why post 125? Why not 1001?

You can label it as "going off-topic" if you must, but I'm posting 125. End of.
