Silver Linings Playbook... This one should have been on my list too. Quickly becoming one of my favorite movies. Transformers 2... I applaud you for that one. Was about #105 on my list. Some other great choices too but... Friends with Benefits?

85. Clerks 2 (Kevin Smith, 2006) One of the funniest movies ever and best sequels, plus the storyline has heart. 84. Shadow of a Doubt (Alfred Hitchcock, 1943) Hitch classic. Perfectly directed thriller, standout villain role by Cotton. 83. Cosmopolis (David Cronenberg, 2012) Introspective, pretentious in a good way and fits Cronenberg’s direction perfectly. His best. 82. Up! (Pixar, 2009) I was hiding under the porch because I love you. Best Pixar, mixing emotion and fun. 81. American Beauty (Sam Mendes, 1999) I have a confession to make. This was never really my favorite movie, I was just feeling sub-conscience about putting one of my other movies number 1 when I was like 15, then I never admitted it. Nevertheless very strong internal drama, thanks to Alan Ball, cinematography and the actors.

Riggs wrote: Cosmopolis just pure crap. God, I hate that piece of shit. Have to agree. That one would belong in my worst 100 movies list. Shadow of the Doubt, however, is a very fine choice and one of my top 5 Hitchcock. And I like lists where you don't know what's coming next like this one.

Clerks 2 is somewhat of an inspired choice. Not really my type of humor, but it did have a few big laughs for me.

Re: Return of the All-Time Top 100 Movie List Thread (Shack)
After I first saw it, I liked Clerks 2 more than the first and as my favorite Smith movie. I still love it obviously, but chose to put Dogma, Mallrats and Clerks 2 over it in my top 100. Clerks 3 is supposedly Kevin's last movie so he needs to really hit that one out of the park.
That Cosmopolis gif has made me more interested in that movie than any advertisement that has come before it.

I enjoy Cosmopolis, and it grew on me upon repeat viewings, but I would never say it is Cronenberg's best. It is to a certain degree boxed in by its devout fidelity to DeLillo, and Cronenberg is a director at his absolute best when he can spread his idiosyncratic wings entirely.

80. Boogie Nights (PT Anderson, 1997) Hard not to put this 69th. Great rise/fall, effect of fame film. 79. Definitely, Maybe (Adam Brooks, 2008)
Love this romcom. Can’t they just make this concept again, it’s too good to use once 78. The 40 Year Old Virgin (Judd Apatow, 2005) Definitely one of the funniest of all time. And also about facing change. 77. The Terminator (James Cameron, 1984) Great action and romance combination. Simplicity is its friend. 76. Terminator 2: Judgment Day (James Cameron, 1991) Big, loud, great blockbuster.

Re: Return of the All-Time Top 100 Movie List Thread (Shack)
I would applaud the Definitely Maybe citation if you were listing the greatest albums of all-time. But, unfortunately, this is a list of films, and you mean the mediocre Ryan Reynolds movie.
Hard to argue with the Terminator inclusions. I slightly prefer the first.

T2 in 76th place is ridiculous
like the inclusions of T1, 40 Year old Virgin, and Definitely, Maybe.

Like both Terminators, but T1 should be over T2.

Can't fault you for including The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgement Day, but, well, actually I can...they're at spots #76 and #77...wtf?
Surrounding by trash like Boogie Nights. LMFAO

Re: Return of the All-Time Top 100 Movie List Thread (Shack)
75. The Abyss (James Cameron, 1989) James Cameron’s most beautiful film and a lot of fun. Fantastic. How is this the one movie I couldn’t find a gif for? 74. Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (Gore Verbinski, 2003) How to make an comic adventure film and Sparrow is an all time great. He’s a Pirate is also the greatest. All time great blockbuster. 73. The Dark Knight (Chris Nolan, 2008) Best superhero film. Awesome action, awesome villain, dark but still fun. 72. Once (John Carney, 2006) Great simple romance and movie about what could’ve been. 71. Knocked Up (Judd Apatow, 2007) Both one of the funniest films and has more depth than given credit for. About life in a way.
