It was a huge amount of fun man. The only problem for me was that while the movie was just as entertaining and well made the second time, I did notice a huge amount of logic problmes.

I too noticed some unanswered questions but the film is entertaining enough that it's possible to ignore them and just enjoy the ride.

New Movies
I saw November early in the week and while I was intrigued and interested just about the whole way through, I did get lost and confused to what actually happened and what was the right way things went. I think, it was good overall, but the grade could change when I understand the film better, possibly by a second viewing.

I saw Hustle and Flow today. EXCELLENT film. I loved it. I was on track to giving it an A (2 Terrence Howard films) but the last act was a bit weak. It was good, I'm not complaining about the direction it went, I just think for all that it was led up to it lacked the emotional punch to compliment the journey we took to get there. It ended very abruptly and while I was happy with the way it ended, I think they could have spruced the final scenes more, and not really tied up loose ends but sum up where and what everyone ended up doing like a conclusion. Otherwise, it took me on a couple of emotional highs and I was engaged throughout. Great, amazing performances all around. Along with Crash, the best movies of the year as well as the strongest ensembles to date this year.

Grading Standard:
A+: Rarely handed out; suggests the movie is beyond the year and one of the best I have ever seen.
A: Solid movie, best of the year.
A-: Among the great movies of the year but either not quite up to the standard set by the leading films of the year.

B+: Above average. Those films that aren't among the greats of the year but offer something new, fresh, or somethingabove what an average movie would deliver.
B: The average entertainment
B-: Slightly below average because of one too many flaws or possibly great potential and ideas behind a semi-sloppy product; but still good enough for a last resort recommendation.

C+: Falls just below a recommendation, could be part of a genre in which it would be rated better, but on its own, it doesn't hold up as anything close to solid entertainment
C: Sloppy and messy work with not much innovation behind it or lacking serious creativity
C-: Just an aweful mess

D: Transcends being one of the worst of the year.

New Movies
I saw Must Love Dogs this afternoon with my mom. When first hearing of the movie, I wanted to see it because I love Diane Lane. The tv spots looked a bit funny too but I lost interest. My mom insisted, so I went with her. I was surprised that it turned out quite good and funny. I mean, I knew everything that was going to happen, but knowing it was a formulaic romantic comedy, I think Diane Lane really lived it up. I think it was something more than your average romantic comedy. It was also hillarious to see an Armenian stand-up comic in the movie; my mother and I were utterly dumbfounded and delightfully surprised to see him in the film.I actually wanted to give it a B+ but my grading is going a bit awry, so I have to sort through it.

Hustle & Flow had to be one of the hardest films to grade all year. The ending is really what boosts it up above the other B+ movies. It might move up further that that as the year progresses.

6-6.4 - Decent entertainment. I won't regret seeing it in theaters.
5-5.9 - Average; worth no more then a netflix rental.
4-4.9 - Somewhat weak, but some postive aspects.
3-3.9 - Poor
2-2.9 - One of the worst of the year.
0-1.9 - Dreadful
Under zero - I give some movies negative scores because I think the gap between them and other films could not otherwise be expressed. This ranks a film as one of the worst I've ever seen.

My two newest entries are bolded. Wedding Crashers is simply great. I didn't feel like the time went slow at all, and I enjoyed it a lot. Devil's Rejects works on many levels, but fails on one or two of the more important levels (the ending was not really something I thoroughly enjoyed at all).
