TRAILER. OF. THE. YEAR.
I'm assuming this will be attached to Cursed tomorrow night. It will bring the house down.
BTW - The trailer has the R rating in front of it. It's R, folks.

That's the best trailer I've seen for a horror movie (or any movie) in a long time. Fantastic.

Ooh, my expectations are pretty high now. I'm dragging my girlfriend to Cursed on Saturday night... if only to see the Ring Two trailer in front of 500 horror fans. Back in a few with my thoughts...

I really can't wait now.
I'm almost certain this movie is a lock for an opening over $20M. A trailer like that just doesn't go ignored.
They NEED to attach this to the RING TWO though, cause then, $100m+ worth of viewers are going to see it, and it's gonna be even bigger!
I seriously cannot WAIT until this is released.
It looks bloody terrifying.
I must say, i'm more excited about AMITYVILLE and HOUSE OF WAX now, than i am for THE RING TWO.

The trailer's definitely nifty, though I don't think it compares to TCM 2003's. And what's the melody that plays? It's eerie.

I'm thrilled that it has the R banner in front of it. If that's not a conformation if it's rating, then nothing is.
And yeah, it's not quite as good as the TCM '03 trailer was, but that was one of the best trailers of all time in my opinion. This trailer is still fantastic, though.

If Ring Two hits like it should (and will), people will be dying for another really good horror film. I think Amityville's going to manage a $30 million opening.

Most horror movies in general tend to do that. We just tend to look back with rose(gore)-colored glasses. The 80s most of all were 96% shit, but a few gems came along as well.

Yeah, AMITYVILLE's major success is riding on THE RING TWO alot. If RING makes massive $100M+ numbers, then it's gonna help AMITYVILLE alot, like you said Dark Shape.
Hopefully, after WHITE NOISE, HIDE AND SEEK and BOOGEYMAN kinda dissapointed some, RING TWO will put them back in the mood for horror. Then AMITYVILLE and HOUSE OF WAX will benefit.
Roll on April!

YOu think the reviews for this will be good?

The Ring Two will, no doubt, make over $100+ million. However, if it gets a terrible reaction, that might hurt The Amityville Horror. I doubt it'll happen, because The Ring Two needs to be completely hated by the general public (ex. The Village) for this to happen. Not that The Village is completely hated, but among the mainstream teenage audience, it was complete garbage.

I'll answer this, too.
I think it'll be somewhere around 70% at Rotten Tomatoes (similar to Dawn Of The Dead '04). Most critics have a predetermined idea that any horror film will suck, so even if it's pretty good, they'll find stuff wrong with it. I think this one is going to be really good, though, which will force some to break down and praise it.

See, it's trailers like this that make me ask why everyone worries so much about remakes? Some take it too far (Havana Nights anyone?) but this looks absolutely awesome, count me in for a 30 million opening. Trailer was scary as hell. Anyone else get reminded of Raiders of the Lost Ark with the projector, or is that just one of my childhood things?

oh no!! after reading this thread, i ran to watch the trailer, expecting to drool over it... but for some reason, it just failed to ignite my passion
normally, i'm a sucker for any sort of horror trailer. maybe it's just me, but after ring, the american ring, and the slew of ring-related films (the grudge, gothika, etc.), this all looked a tiny bit samey. plus, i can't help being affected by the doubts over the story's authenticity. i was determined not to let that bother me, but when "based on a true story" (or whatever it was) appeared, i couldn't help groaning
on the plus side, i'm impressed by melissa george - the trailer promises a good performance... and who would've thought that she used to be in home and away?

Jesus Christ.. Folks, that's what I'm talking about and just the look and feel of this alone puts anything The RING or it's PG-13 Sequel to fucking shame.. =D> I'm even more hyped for this right now, especially after getting that Book I was telling you all about, with the chapter and pics devoted to the Amityville Horror and this chapter is a creepy read that does make you wonder alot... As soon as I'm finished reading this, I'll post a chapter on this and see for yourself.. I'm sticking with the 1st R-Rated Horror film that's obviously skillfully well done, well crafted, that's gonna blow away any Horror movie this year, ALL OF THEM and it's The Amityville Horror.. I'm sticking to the 3-Day 50 Million Opening that's gonna have great legs and surprisingly so up until May.. See?? I told all of you this was gonna be fucking awesome.. =D>

No it's not.. Are you telling me that a well done Horror movie like this one looks to be has no chance humanely possible of grabbing both adults and teens instead of just teens in enabling this to be a big weekend grosser??? I think alot of you are gonna be shocked at how big this opens up to.. If a cheesy PG-13 Horror like The RING can open up well, there's no reason why this movie can't do it, R-Rating or not...
